WHAT TO EXPECT

Start your morning with pickup from your Paphos accommodation or nearby pickup spot and travel down the coast to see the famous Aphrodite's Rock down on the coast, making the most of its convenient location on your route to the mountains.

Relax as the driver of the minibus takes you up into the mountains to the village of Lofou. Hop out here to stretch your legs and sample local halloumi and coffee as you shop at craft stores.

Head farther into the mountains, admiring the scenery along the way, to the traditional village of Omodos. There youll be taken to the Timios Stavros Monastery to learn why this is one of the islands most important monasteries.

Avakas Gorge is part of the European Natura 2000 network. Situated in the south-west part of Akamas Peninsula, Avakas Gorge is the most imposing and famous gorge in Cyprus.

2: Lara Bay Turtle Conservation Station

Lara Bay is one of the few remaining havens for loggerhead and green turtles to nest. Aluminium cages are placed over the nests in order to protect small turtles from foxes and enable them to escape to the sea as soon as they emerge from the sand. Turtles nest from the middle of May to the end of August.

This will be the starting point of our tour, we will meet there and make a small briefing about the route and gear. Before we start you will receive full instructions on how to use your e-bike as well as general safety instructions.

2: Paphos Forest

Platys River is one of the two roots of Diarizos River. The area north of the famous Tzelefos Medieval Bridge until Milikouri Village is known as the Platys River Valley and is considered as one of the most magical places to see across the whole island as it is an area with rich vegetation within the deep Paphos Forest.

Start: Tzelefos Bridge (440m altitute)
Distance to Milikouri (800m altitute): 14km (2km asfalt), (10km dirt road)

Before we start you will receive full instructions on how to use your e-bike as well as general safety instructions.

We will ride our e-bikes to Milikouri village and back. The route to Milikouri climbs from 440 to 800m. That's not a problem for the e-bikes! They make the climb easy and pleasant, giving the opportunity to recreational cyclists and less physically active individuals, to enjoy the natural beauty and the view of this unknown part of Cyprus which would have been almost impossible to do with regular bikes.
Arriving at Milikouri, one of the most remoted and isolated villages in the heart of Paphos Forest, everything is so peacefull and quiet that you have the sense that time stopped and you are in the middle of nowhere! We will make a break here under a big plane tree at a small traditional restaurant at the center of the village.
At Platanos restaurant we will have a coffee and enjoy some traditional treats (meze) that are made by hand from materials that are produced traditionaly, from the restaurant owners and other small producers in the area. We will have some "real" halloumi, lountza, pitta, olives, fresh tomatoes, souvlaki and other delicious meze.

After we eat and get some rest (about 1 hour) we will start our return journey.

On our way from Paphos we will visit the Ayia Paraskevi Church in Yeroskipou. This church is worldwide recognized as an extremely significant example of Byzantine architecture.

In Yeroskipou we will have the opportunity to sample and buy the local made delights.

We will then discover the archaeological remains of Kourion - which was one of the islands most important city-kingdoms in antiquity - are of the most impressive on the island, and excavations have unearthed many significant finds, which can be viewed at the site.

For some of hotels in Paphos we provide pick up points within 3-5 min walk/drive ( due to accessibility limits to hotel and logistic reasons )
For those who stay in apartments we try to provide pick up points as close as possible.

You will have opportunity to admire the beauty of the sea bays of the Akamas nature reserve, to feel the evening cool of the sea breeze and swim in the crystal clear water of the Blue Lagoon.
