Nancy
Nancy was the capital of old Lorraine, and was built around a fortified castle on a rock. Because of its scenic beauty, history, cuisine, and architecture, it once rivaled Paris as the center for Art Nouveau. The capital of the Dukes of Lorraine, Nancy is renowned the world over for its UNESCO listed 18th Century architecture. This includes its three squares, Carrière, Alliance, and Stanislas, said to be the most beautiful in the world.
