Trip Summary

  • Berlin
    Berlin

The German capital holds a world cultural record with three opera houses, two concert halls and eight symphony orchestras. This is the heart of Germany, with a stoic beat that echoes through grand public buildings, glorious museums and theatres, urbane restaurants, bustling pubs and raucous nightclubs. Today, structures of steel and glass tower over streets, and parks and gardens are again lush. With its field of new skyscrapers and hip clubs and fashion boutiques, post millennium Berlin has recast itself as the continent's capital of cool.

Visit Brandenburg Gate, Reichstag, Berlin Cathedral, Museum Island, Berlin TV Tower, Holocaust Memorial, Berlin Wall Memorial, Check Point Charlie and so much more!

  • Dresden
    Dresden

Dresden, located in the east of Germany, is also called 'Florence of the Elbe' thanks to its idyllic location on the banks of the river. Although 80% of Dresden's historic center was destroyed in WWII, important landmarks have been rebuilt to their former splendor including the dome of the magnificently restored Frauenkirche (Church of Our Lady). Palaces glitter and gardens bloom once again. With its wealth of museums, palaces, and other tourist attractions, there are plenty of things to do in Dresden.

Visit the Church of Our Lady (Frauenkirche), Zwinger Palace, Brühl's Terrace, Green Vault, Bundeswehr Military History Museum, Albertinum (Modern Art Museum), Royal Palace (Residenzschloss), the Cathedral, The Stolen Gallery (Ukradena Galerie), and so much more!

  • Leipzig
    Leipzig

Goethe once dubbed Leipzig the 'little Paris' of Eastern Europe, though today's crop of locals are more likely to compare its budding arts and tech sectors to that of post-Wall Berlin in the early '90s, bursting with a raw and invigorating subculture of young, high-energy creatives. Over the past two decades, Leipzig has again become a destination, as it was years ago when it was known for its intellectual and cultural life. It is a metropolis that grew rich from hosting international trade fairs, publishing books, and processing cotton.

Explore Market Square, the Old Town Hall, St Thomas Church, St Nicholas Church, Battle of the Nations Monument, Madlerpassage, Coffe Baum Coffee Museum, Leipzig Zoo, Museum of Fine Arts, and so much more!

  • Weimar
    Weimar

Located on the edge of the Thuringian Forest, Weimar is a small town, dating from 899. Its main attractions are related to culture and history, as it was home to famous personalities like Goethe, Schiller, Nietzsche, and Bach. The town still carries terrifying reminders of Nazi horrors at the Buchenwald concentration camp. Visitors coming here will be welcomed by the charming medieval atmosphere of the narrow, winding streets and the houses with gabled roofs.

Visit the Bauhaus Museum and Sites, Goethe's House, Belvedere Palace and Park, Weimar's Old Town, Buchenwald Concentration Camp Memorial, and more!
