Tourlos bay is the starting point of the tour.The complimentary shuttle transportation will transfer the clients to sailingboat Nadia K. There the captain and the staff will greet them and make them feel comfortable before the starting of the tour. The boarding will take 5 minutes and the anchors will be lifted for the sailing adventure. The distance from Tourlos to Dhelos is 1 hour.

We will have a stop at Paleokastro, at the famous ruins of a Venetian castle. The Gizi Castle, also known as Gyzi Castle or Paleokastro, though it's less renowned compared to the island's beaches and nightlife. The Gyzi Castle is a part of the island's history that often goes unnoticed by the majority of tourists.
The castle dates back to the Byzantine era. It was built during the 13th century and is one of the oldest historical structures on the island.

This terrace was erected and dedicated to Apollo by the people of Naxos just before 600 BCE. The lions, with their mouths open as if roaring or snarling, were both meant to guard the sanctuaries and to inspire a feeling of divine fear among the worshippers.

1: Greece Tours & Travel

Starting the City-and Island tour by walking the small and narrow streets, having many possibilities to take nice photographs in the early morning, quiet city. We get orientation and information in the labyrinth of the old town as well as impressions of the small port and the churches in town. Of course we will see the famous wind- mills and find Petros the Pelican, the mascot of Mykonos.

After this we are exploring the island, visiting some of the most famous beaches and the inner landscape.

We see fishermen and kaikis, small private chapels and houses built in typical Cycladic style.

In the second main village of Mykonos, Ano Mera, an idyllic place 6km from town, where the guests have enough free time for a stroll around the traditional square and they can visit the monk monastery of Panagia Tourliani built in the 16th century.

Next stop is Kalafatis beach were there is time to relax for a while and have a coffee or a refreshment (not included in the price). Transfers are included from/to all hotels and most areas of Mykonos, however for some remote places (Elia, Kalafatis, Agrari, Panormos, Super Paradise, Paradise & Kanalia) or from remote villas, apartments or houses, there will be an extra charge (10,00 euro per person R/T), payable in cash on the spot to the driver.
All clients are kindly requested to send their preferred meeting point and location until 3:00pm of the previous date. Should they fail to do so, our company will do anything it can in order to locate them (telephone, email, etc), however it is not responsible for any failure to meet them.
Meeting points can be hotels anywhere on the island, the old port or the new port. The information necessary is either the hotel name or the name of the cruise ship they are arriving with.
For any other accommodation, clients are requested to send us a google map, a nearby hotel or any information that would help us locate them.
Any delay of behalf of the client (up until 15 minutes that we will be waiting for them) affects the transfer schedule and disrupts the smooth conduct of the tour/activity.

Although this activity highlights the traditional factor of the Mykonian lifestyle, on the other hand a traditional description of its programme hardly does it justice. This may sound vague, but during these 5 hours (approximately) you will experience the traditional Greek way of life, the culture, the Greek art of cooking. It is not what you will do, it is mostly how you will do it. During this time you will learn tips and cooking methods that have made Mykonian Spiti, Mykonos and Greece, loved by its friends and visitors, but most importantly you will instil the hospitality and the everyday lifestyle of a traditional Mykonian family.

For accommodations that are located in a pedestrian zone, our company will set the best possible pick-up point.

1: Mykonos Port

Mykonos island has two ports. The new one is located in Tourlos district just 3,5 KM from Mykonos town, and the old port which is very close to the town of Mykonos. So, this can be mind confusing but have no worries! We are here to help!

The New Port (Tourlos) is the main port of Mykonos and operates exclusively the typical passenger ferries and cruise ships. It is located 3 km north of Mykonos Town. So, whether you are traveling from Athens ports (Piraeus, Rafina, or Lavrio) or another island on a typical passenger ferry, or cruise ship you will arrive at, or depart from the New Mykonos Port (Tourlos).

The old port in Mykonos is located in Mykonos town (Chora) and it operated as the main port for ferries till 20 years ago. Recently, it has been used by some fishermen and yachts.

2: Mykonos Town

The town is a Cycladic village built amphitheatrically, also known as Chora following the common practice in Greece when the name of the island itself is the same as the name of the principal town. Agios Ioannis is a small tourist village in the southwest of the island, 2.5 km from Ornos. As you are in Ag. Ioannis you will have now the chance to admire the famous island of Delos.

Delos is a Greek island and archaeological site in the Aegean Sea's Cyclades archipelago, opposite Mykonos island. The mythological birthplace of Apollo and Artemis was a major religious center and port during the 1st millennium B.C. The island's ruins encompass Doric temples, a synagoque, markets, an amphitheater, houses with mosaics, and the iconic Terrace of the Lions statues. The Archaeological Museum displays statues excavated from the site.

The entire island is designated as an archaeological site, to be precise, a UNESCO world heritage site. Its an ark of history, floating lazily on the waters of the Aegean Sea, just a few miles away from cosmopolitan Mykonos.

5: Faros Armenistis

Both a testimony to Mykonos' maritime history and a fully functioning lighthouse, the landmark is a must-see! At the location of "Fanari" which translates to "lantern" in Greek, the scenic coastal road also offers some of the most spectacular views on the island just 7 km from Chora.

The Lighthouse of Armenistis (Faros Armenistis) was built in 1891, following the sinking of an English steamship off the islands coasts. The Lighthouse became a famous attraction because of its imposing presence and its award-winning mechanism, at the Paris Internationa Expo. Today, this mechanism is kept at the Aegean Maritime Museum, located in downtown Mykonos, in the Tria Pigadia area.

You can also visit the Armenistis area where the Lighthouse is located and enjoy the unique view of the neighboring island of Tinos.

The Byzantine monastery of Panagia Tourliani is located almost in the heart of the island, just 8 km from the capital of Mykonos, Chora. The all-white monastery is located right in front of the main square of the village.

As its away from the more touristy beaches, it remains less developed, but it has a few hotels and restaurants. Kalafatis is equipped with umbrellas and deck chairs which you can rent for a small price.
