If you choose us for your sunset tour you will live a 2-hour experience with departure at the time communicated and return at night. You will be accompanied by our proximity audio guides in 6 different languages.
Leaving the port we will sail briefly under the ancient walls of Alghero built during the Spanish domination between the fifteenth and seventeenth centuries.
In front of the walls we will turn off the engine and only get carried away by the current. During this break you will hear the audio-narrative that will reveal all the secrets of the walls.
Then we will anchor close to the island of Maddalenetta and you can also take a night bath if you want and then you can take an invigorating hot shower. Aperitifs will be served consisting of appetizers and local wine in addition to water. This tour is dedicated to the search for dolphins. Thanks to the presence on board of the scientist of MareTerra NGO, our chance of spotting dolphins is 80%, a very high probability for such elusive animals.

During the navigation, we'll satisfy all your curiosities about the biology and behaviour of dolphins, along with their conservation status. Once we sighted a group of dolphins, we get closer in accord with the International Code of Conduct we adopt to minimise the risk of any disturbance to dolphins and other wildlife.
We will also be able to let you listen to the dolphin sounds recorded by the scientists of MareTerra NGO on board.
Thanks to the photo-identification technique, we can recognise dolphins by their dorsal fins and we are able to tell you their names, how old they are and their health status.
During the navigation, you will admire one of the most beautiful coasts of Sardinia and the crystalline waters of the Marine Protected Area of Capo Caccia - Isola Piana. After all these emotions, discover the magnificent underwater world and its inhabitants. Do not have much experience with snorkelling? Our guides will accompany you and will give you guidance in the water. In this way, you can enjoy your safe snorkelling experience.

Observe the researchers as they collect scientific data to study the bottlenose dolphin population of the Gulf of Alghero. During snorkelling, you'll have a guide who will take you to discover underwater life. On board, we'll tell you some curiosities about what we have seen. You will never be alone!

Our adventure begins in Alghero, ascending into a more secluded and uninhabited inland area. Along the way, we'll share the contrasts between Alghero and the rest of the island as you take in the breathtaking views of the Gulf of Alghero.

We will pause to discuss the native plants of the Mediterranean scrub and their traditional uses. Leaving the main road, we'll venture onto a secondary path traditionally used by local shepherds to navigate between their lands. This journey will lead us to a unique panoramic viewpoint offering a stunning vista of the entire Gulf of Algheroa sight not to be missed!

As we continue, well pass through cork oak forests where you'll learn about cork production. Our next stop is an archaeological park, where you'll dive into the history and culture of the Nuragic civilization.

The journey takes us back along the coast, providing an opportunity to spot and admire griffon vultures, the majestic lords of the wind. Before heading back, we'll make a final stop at a nearby beach to enjoy a typical Sardinian aperitif featuring local delicacies.

WHAT TO EXPECT

1: Stintino

9:00 a.m.: Meeting at the Tanca Manna pier in Stintino (in low season, if the Motorship is not available, the transfer will be made on board a 12-seater inflatable boat with skipper departing from the Port of Ancora, also in Stintino. In this case, you will be contacted by email or telephone the day before the excursion).
9:30 a.m.: Boarding the motorboat Ausonia.
9:50 a.m.: Arrival on the island of Asinara at the Fornelli pier (a refreshment point and bathroom available).

2: Parco nazionale dell`Asinara

The excursion continues to discover the Park.
On board the minivan, you will pass near the Fornelli Prison (not open because it is closed), the Asinara castle called Castellaccio and Cala Sant'Andrea located in zone A (forbidden both by land and by sea).
Next stop Cala di Mackerel, where you can admire the rocks, chosen place for the nesting of different species of water and sea birds.
In Cala Reale another stop is made at Campo Perdu, a former prison branch, where today there is a riding school for horses, goats and the famous white and gray donkeys.
If possible, we can visit the Sea Turtle Recovery Center, managed by Association C.R.A.M.A.
Stop at the small village of Cala d'Oliva, with a visit to the Central Branch and the museum.
Last stop Cala Sabina for about an hour and a half, where you can relax, swim and snorkel. (Don't forget mask and snorkel!)

3: Stintino

Return to the Fornelli pier scheduled at around 16:15, to board the Motorship Ausonia departing at 16:30. Arrival at the port of Stintino at approximately 17:00.

We will reach this long beach through a beautiful single track, usually we take a sea view snack at one of the beach kiosks.

4: Punta Giglio

Inside the natural Regional Park of Porto Conte, Punta Giglio is an amazing reserve.

Due to its strategic position between Porto Conte and Alghero it was an important anti-aircraft base of the army during the last war, that we can visit during our ride, of which there are still structures with barracks, anti-aircraft cannons positioning platforms, casemates and explosives deposit, built with limestone place and camouflaged to the view from the sea.

5: Spiaggia Del Lazzaretto

Perhaps the most beautiful beach on the coral coast, a beach restaurant offers delicious sea and land dishes cooked on the spot. On request it is possible to add lunch to the tour with a supplement. Very close to Lazzaretto there are many small hidden beaches, difficult to reach by car, we will be happy to reach them together by bike and if we have time for a dip in their crystal clear waters will be for sure an unforgettable memory.

Due to the nature of our 1978 MotorSailer and the complexity of sailing, which requires specific wind conditions, the trip will be made by motor.
We have chosen to focus the onboard experience on guests' enjoyment and appreciation of nature, rather than pure sailing.
The two hours would not be enough for a real sailing experience, which would require strong winds, not always pleasant for those who are not used to it.
