Our dogs will show you their skills and we will reveal all the secrets of this famous "black gold" of the earth. A walk through the woods and paths will allow you to fully experience the unique relationship with nature and with our dogs, Lord and Lea, who will come to you with light smells, hidden traces and together with them you will be the one to dig the truffles out of the ground and uncover them.
You will be told about the history, the terrains and the different ways to search. You will spend two hours in absolute harmony and tranquility and based on the participants and their age or other factors we can decide together the length and difficulty of the route to take.

WHAT TO EXPECT

The experience includes a walk in the Assisi countryside in search of truffles. Depending on the participants, more comfortable journeys can be envisaged, for example in the presence of children.
For orrete in the company of our dogs trained to search for truffles, paths in the open countryside, in the woods or along the rivers depending on the period and the truffle we will be looking for. You will be explained the differences of truffles and the lands where you can find them and why. Our dogs Lord and Lea will show you two different ways of searching and with them you will understand why the truffle is so precious and so exciting.
The summer season will take you in search of the scorzone black truffle in the open countryside and in the woods. During the autumn the exciting search for the rare and therefore highly prized white truffle will lead you to walk in fantastic scenery, in the woods and along the rivers and sometimes it will even be necessary to cross them.

Assisi (Pass by)

We will meet each other and start our walking tour of Assisi exploring its old Roman Ruins. We will see remains of the local Roman Amphitheatre and the beautiful Minerva Temple, which has one of the best preserved facades of Italy.

During our tour you will also experience the athmosphere of a medieval Italian hilltown by visiting local handicraft shops (pottery, carvings, embrodery,.. ) and having a walk through typical little alleys. The focus of our tour there will be the Basilica of Saint Francis with its magnificent frescoes by Giotto (13th - 14th C. ), one of the most important artists of Italy in the Middle Ages.

After a lunch break (not included) we will move to Spello which is another really authentic hilltown of Umbria famous for its by flowers decoreted little streets. In Spello you will also enjoy Renaissance art by Pinturicchio a 15th Century painter who has also worked in the Vatican in Rome.

Erected in 1615 on the remains of a building believed to be the home of St. Francis. The buildings architecture design is from the Renaissance period. The façade, built of brick, is divided by four pillars supporting a Doric entablature, with attic gable, above which rises a hemispherical dome.

WHAT TO EXPECT

That of the norcino, is an ancient craft, and Umbria, in particular, has managed to make it a real culinary art renowned since Roman times. We will have a guided visit to a prestigious farm near Assisi, and there we will learn the secrets of this culinary tradition: the anatomy of the pig, the basic techniques of cutting the pig, processing of meat up to the production of sausages, preservation, salting, and aging of meat. At the end of the lab, we will have a well-deserved lunch with the results of our work accompanied by other Umbrian typical products!
After lunch, we will reach Assisi, Franciscan place par excellence not only in Umbria and Italy, but all over the world. We will meet our private guide who will take us on an interesting guided tour of this wonderful ancient village, to discover the history of Saint Francis while admiring the beauty of the numerous monuments, churches, and lovely alleys of Assisi: Piazza del Comune, Basilica di Santa Chiara, and many others. The cellars in this area are often small family institution which head down from generations the ancient art to making wine. The Temple of Minerva is an ancient Roman building in Assisi, Umbria, central Italy. It currently houses a church, Santa Maria sopra Minerva, built in 1539 and renovated in Baroque style in the 17th century.

4: Basilica Papale e Sacro Convento di San Francesco d'Assisi

Recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage site, the basilica of St. Francis was built under the direction of Brother Elias, vicar general and architect of the order, starting in 1228, just two years after the saint's death, as a place designed to receive his remains.

5: Basilica Papale e Sacro Convento di San Francesco d'Assisi

If the solemn and dark lower basilica invites penance and silence, the upper church soars into the sky, airy and bright. In a Gothic style with French influences, the nave has four bays, cross vaulting, and a polygonal transept and apse.
