In the Dolomites near Bolzano we offer several winter hiking options in the areas of "Val di Funes", "Latemar", "Catinaccio" and "Alpe di Siusi". During the day there is time to stop for lunch.

We will cross the Ega Valley that begins at Bolzano and runs eastward between the Rosengarten and the Latemar mountains. This road was built in 1894 when the territory was part of the Austro Hungarian Empire.
We will stop at Carezza Lake, the most beautiful lake of the western Dolomites: 30 minutes of staying with a walk around the lake if you want.

From here begins a long series of 27 hairpins bends (switchbacks) that will lead us to the famous Pordoi Pass at an altitude of 2.239 meters (7.350 ft) above sea level. Once in the ski resort we will use a modern gondola lift to climb to the starting point of the toboggan run at an altitude of 1830 meters above sea level.
The toboggan track is famous because it is equipped with an artificial snow system that allows its use even when there is no natural snow and because it is equipped with lighting system for fantastic night descents.
The track is 2.5 km long and the difference in altitude is 280 meters.
