This palace was probably built by the king Roger II, the Norman, beginning in 1131 as Domus Regia, the seat of the King and the offices of his dignitaries. Subsequently it housed the Royal Chancellery, the Court of Justice, the Senate, the offices of the Civic Judges and after a time, its undergrounds were used as jail. The property is situated in the very center of Cefalu within no more than a mile of attractions such as the Cefalu Cathedral and several local beaches. In the surrounding area guests will also be able to find multiple local bars, restaurants, and cafes. The Train Station is 880 yards away from the establishment

During the centuries, the building went through deep changes which modified the original architecture of the building, within the exception of two mullioned windows at the first floor, the ogival portal, a Gothic-Catalan window overlooking the Santissimo alley and a late-Renaissance shop at the ground floor. In the first years of 1800 the second floor was built. The unit features a limited hours front desk, free WIFI in all areas and nearby parking service by a fee. Due to the nature of the building, upper storeys are reachable by stairs only.
