2: Grotta dello Smeraldo

The Emerald Grotto Discovered in 1932 by a local fisherman, Luigi Buonocore. It was named after the play of color from cobalt blue to turquoise and then passing from green to emerald green, due to the sunlight that crosses an underwater furrow that connects it to the open sea.

The captain will stop in front of the cave and ask customers if they wish to visit it, in which case they will get off the small pier and reach the cave, not far away, on foot, and then get on the small boat that will go around the cave. Once the visit is over, the captain will be waiting for them to continue the tour.

Waiting times vary and access is allowed only with favorable water conditions.

The stage is not mandatory.

1: Amalfi Coast

Driving down the coast after a few quick stops for pictures, we arrive in the famous town of Amalfi, founded by Romans, thanks to its maritime traffic and it become in the IX century one of the richest and important Sea Republic in the Mediterranean extending their domination all the way to the Middle East. The Duomo is certainly the most famous monument, Arabic, Byzantine, Moorish and Baroque style, realized in the IX century and dedicated to the patron St. Andrew. The bronze facade portal where made in Constantinople in 1066 and dominate the main square with its staircase. Next to the Cathedral you will enter the charming Amalfi Chiostro del Paradiso, where the archbishop Capuano built the Cript to accommodate the remains of the St. Andrew Apostle.

In the inn part of the town, called Valle dei Mulini, you can visit the paper museum, an old paper mill factory trasformed into a museum in 1969. The museum has all the machinery and equipment of the old factory, restored and fully functional, here you can experience how they used to make paper by hand in the old days.

2: Ravello

After Amalfi we will continue our tour to Ravello situated on a small promontory called Cimbronium, a beautiful terrace overlooking the sea and the villages of Minor and Maiori. Its beauty was immortalized by Boccaccio in Decameron and William Turner with his paintings that are now exposed to the Tate Gallery in London.

In the centre of the town, on the right of the cathedral, a square tower marks the entrance to the Villa Rufolo, a complex of buildings of the second half of the200, here you can admire the Richard Wagner terrace, so called because it inspired the garden of Klingsor, the second act of Parsifal, and today you can attend to the Ravello summer Festival. Walking to the top of the promontory you will find the majestic beauty of Villa Cimbrone, built on the foundations of an ancient villa Patrizia, which hosted sovereign and illustrious names of science and politics. In the late 800s it was purchased by a distinguished English citizen Ernest William Beckett. In 1938 Greta Garbo and Leopold Stokowsky found here the secret of happiness after living the strong outcry of Hollywood. The most important point of the villa is the infinity terrace so called from Gore Vidal for his majestic opening above the horizon.

WHAT TO EXPECT

You will be welcomed in an authentic farmhouse, overlooking the upper part of the Amalfi Coast. This farmhouse enjoys a breathtaking view of the Amalfi Coast. This farm has been run for centuries by one of the oldest dynasties in the country, the Acampora family. This farm was also a place of inspiration for the famous poet Salvatore Di Giacomo, who while resting in this heavenly place wrote the famous Neapolitan poem "Luna d'Agerola". During the experience the chef will teach you how to prepare a tiramisu from scratch, using the famous recipe of Nonna Maria! After preparing Tiramisu, you will relax tasting our homemade wine. Next we will prepare the fantastic mozzarella, coming from the milk of our cow, raised and cared for on the farm. Next we will prepare delicious tagliatelle, having fun together. WHAT TO EXPECT

If you selected a Positano departure point at checkout, greet your captain and crew at Positano harbor in the morning. If you opted to depart from Praiano or Amalfi, alternative departure information is sent prior to the tour.

After boarding your 36-foot (11-meter) boat, reserved exclusively for you and your party, receive a welcome drink and watch the Amalfi Coast recede as you head towards the shimmering Bay of Naples.

Glide past the rock formations of I Faraglioni, reminiscent of the Great Ocean Roads 12 Apostles, and then enter Capris renowned Blue Grottoa sea cave that appears to glow luminescent blue insideat your own expense.

Then, spend a few hours of free time in Capri, a suave and sophisticated island home to historic treasures such as the Gardens of Augustus and the Villa San Michele. Opt to take the chairlift to the summit of Mt. Solaro for spectacular ocean views and sample the seafood Capri is famed for. OVERVIEW

Making a ceramic "piece" on the Amalfi Coast and knowing the majolica technique means entering the world of great local traditions, which have made us famous all over the world for the creation of real works of art. The course will take place in one of our stores in Positano, along a small road overlooking the sea, and a taste of local limoncello will make the experience even more "local"! We will take care of the necessary material and the shipment of the object made after cooking, all that you will take with you at the end of this experience is a part of the local culture and a nice souvenir photo!
We have been producing and selling handcrafted ceramics in Positano since 1948, and make use of professionals who will be able to make you live a truly unique experience!

WHAT TO EXPECT

We offer the opportunity to live an artistic experience to anyone who wants to know and deepen the basic techniques of local craftsmanship.
The artistic laboratory is managed by Giovanna Parlato, an artist from Positano who creates objects in terracotta, modeled and decorated by hand with care and dedication.

We will start the lesson with a brief explanation of the ceramic tradition of the Amalfi Coast. You will then have the opportunity to decorate an object in the famous majolica technique. Once the work is finished, each artistic work will be carefully inserted into the special kiln for ceramics, where it will slowly be brought to a temperature of 950°C.

The class lasts two hours, during which we will let you taste a delicious local limoncello, included in the price there is also a nice souvenir photo and the shipment of the object made once cooking is complete!
