Pass the crossroad to Fugnano and the traffic back, then turn right into a small white road and continue for 50mts, then turn right info the first gate with the sign for Podere le Colonne parking. By Autobus: from Poggibonsi frequent buses are available to reach San Gimignano. The nearest stop is in front of the property Via Martiri di Citerna. By Train: the nearest train stations are in Poggibonsi and Certaldo. From here it's possible to go on by bus or taxi.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Choose a morning or afternoon tour, and make your way to Prategiano Stables near the town of Montieri to meet your guide and get matched to a horse that suits your riding experience level.

This tour is suitable for riders with intermediate or advanced levels of riding experience, and you are able to discuss your riding abilities with the guide before beginning. Get a brief riding lesson from your guide once you're matched with a horse and fitted with a helmet.

Set out from the stables with your guide and ride through the famous Tuscan hills. Ride at a comfortable walking pace for the majority of the time, giving you the chance to take in the gorgeous surroundings, though you have a chance to trot or canter with your horse as well.

Admire Medieval villages, wooded areas, little rivers and streams, and lush valleys. Climb up Montieri Hill, from which you can soak in the views all the way to the coast, before riding back to the stables at the end of the tour.

Please note: Beginning-level riders are welcome on this tour, but may be asked to go through a longer training session before the tour starts.

Ride through Tuscany on horseback, through native woods, small rivers, medieval villages, and blooming meadows.

Meet at the Prategiano Stables, where a guide will talk to you about your riding experience and match you with a horse that fits your level and needs. This tour is best for riders with intermediate or advanced experience. Once paired with a horse, you will be given a helmet and you will have a few minutes in the ring to become confident with your horse. Riding in this wild part of Maremma Toscana, you will cross native woods and small rivers, pass Medieval villages, canter along blooming meadows and have great views. Horseback riders with only advanced experience (walk, trot, canter, 2point/light seat) can participate in these full-day trail riding trips. 1: Podere La Marronaia- Le Colonne Biodynamic Winery & Farm

Meet a small family-run farm in San Gimignano dedicated to the cultivation of grapes and olives and the production of wines and extra virgin olive oil. In 2000, the farm decided to convert all production to the organic method of cultivation, which involves the use of only natural products exploiting the natural fertility of the soil and considering the entire ecosystem. Since 2003, all products are certified organic.
The wine tasting venue is located within walking distance from the town center, in the beautiful surrounding scenery with a view of the towers of San Gimignano and the Vernaccia vineyard.

The activity starts by visiting the Vernaccia vineyard, and concludes with a wine and olive oil tasting paired with a Tuscan lunch.
