There are more millionaires per capita here than anywhere else. Don't miss the Musée Océanographique, probably the best aquarium in Europe, with 90 seawater tanks and a display of living coral.

Despite its exuberant wealth it is a long way from the prettiest town on the French Riviera: it`s basically dominated by concrete and glass with high-rise hotels and rows of apartment buildings that rise into the hills. However, there is definite beauty in this principality to be discovered, including the rocky outcrop known as the Le Rocher (The Rock), which juts out on the south side of the port, as well as a charming old town which feels a world away from the Monte Carlo`s skyscrapers and super yachts. Nice (French Riviera)
Nice is the capital of the Riviera, yet far less glamorous and expensive than Cannes. It's also one of the most ancient, having been founded by the Greeks, who called it 'Nike' or Victory. Because of its brilliant sunshine and relaxed living, it has attracted in the past famous artists and writers. The best trip base on the Riviera, you can choose to explore the region or lounge in its famous cafes. But the most obvious hangout spot here is the beach. The beach in Nice consists of rocks so wear a pair of good sandals.
