Sandhornoy (Pass by)

We depart Bodø and head south to the east of Sandhornøya where we will be between the island and mainland on the way to Beiarfjorden

Beiar Fjord (Pass by)

We pass under the bridge and start to enter Beiarfjorden. This fjord is known for leisure fishing and unique geological formations. We will manouver through the narrow passage to come to the end of the fjord. During the winter the fjord can freeze over partially.

Saltstraumen (Pass by)

If time allowes, we will pass by Saltfjorden and Saltstraumen on the way back, the worlds' strongest tidal current.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Tjuvtrappa (Thieves' stairs). The place got its name because a woman stole a cow at Loftfjellgården and pulled it up the mountainside to the top. It was later called Tjuvtrappa, and she took the cow further down towards Selfors. The place has no stairs; there has never been one either, but perhaps it is called Tjuvtrappa because the terrain is located in stairs up from Loftfjellgården.
Many families have lived there throughout the ages and the area has been inhabited for a long time.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Åselidalen is a beautiful valley carved out by glaciers some hundreds of thousands of years ago. Crystal clear mountain lakes and waterfalls surrounded by peaks is what youll find today. Starting from Bodø, the valley is a perfect place for a moderate hiking day trip in Northern Norway.

The Hidden Valley: The Børvasstindane mountain range contains the signature mountains of Bodø. Åselidalen The Hidden Valley cuts into the mountains between the mountain ridges Åselitindan and Falkflågtindan.

Peaks: The valley is surrounded by jagged peaks, all over 1,000 metres above sea level. Two of them, PerKalsa and Børtind, are favourites among the locals heading for a steep day hike.

OVERVIEW

Join us for a small-group Northern Lights adventure from Bodø where we go all-in to give you the best possible chance of seeing the Aurora.

We follow the weather, cloud cover and Aurora forecasts throughout the evening and use our local knowledge to decide where to go. If conditions around Bodø are not favourable, we go further into the countryside, sometimes towards the Swedish border.

We dont have a fixed turnaround time. When conditions are challenging but there is still a realistic chance of seeing the Northern Lights, we stay out longer, giving the skies more time to clear. Some nights this means returning to Bodø as late as around 2 AM. Our approach has resulted in an Aurora sighting rate of around 85%.

We travel in a comfortable Mercedes 4WD van with a maximum of six guests. Well share local knowledge about the landscape and the Aurora, take high-quality photos for you, and provide warm drinks and snacks. Warm clothing and headlamps are also available if needed.

WHAT TO EXPECT

When arriving at Bratten our guides will meet you. They will hand out, and give instructions regarding the safety equipment before we go climbing. After an introduction to the equipment you will be guided along our sherpa trail to the Via Ferratas starting point at sea level. The routes are exposed and requires some physical strength.

Our guide will join you on your climbing from sea level along the vertical cliff. The via ferratas exit is at 57 meters above sealevel and offer great views of the ocean and surrounding mountains.

Guests have to dress according to the weather. Proper clothing is important both for safety and to have a good experience.

Trips need to have at least two bookings to be performed. Customers will be offered a refund or another time for the activity in case of solo booking.
