Upon arrival at Auschwitz-Birkenau, join a guided tour of the camps, now preserved as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. See barracks, train tracks, and long rows of gas chamber chimneys, and learn the story of those who suffered and died in the largest concentration and extermination centers in the Nazi Third Reich.
Following your time at Auschwitz-Birkenau, continue to the Wieliczka Salt Mine. Pause for a lunch break at the mines.
Enter the 13th-century, UNESCO-listed salt mine for a guided tour, touring a landscape carved from salt, with pillars, vaulted ceilings, and sculptures in glistening white. This full-day tour concludes with drop-off at your hotel or at another location in central Krakow.1: KrakowYour tour begins with transportation from Krakow, either from the hotel you specified or a designated meeting point of your choice. The Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum is located in Oswiecim, approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes away (65 km). All drivers we work with have the necessary EU certifications for passenger transport. You will be accompanied by a friendly, English-speaking group leader who will assist you whenever needed. Upon arrival in Oswiecim, you'll have a brief break to grab a coffee or explore the outdoor exhibitions. Afterward, youll be introduced to your local, professional guide, who is officially licensed by the Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum.1 hour 15 minutes -Admission Ticket Free2: Panstwowe Muzeum Auschwitz-BirkenauBegin your tour by walking through the gate of Auschwitz I, the first camp, initially established as a concentration camp for Polish citizens arrested after Germany annexed the country in 1939. You'll pass under the infamous sign "Arbeit Macht Frei" (Work Makes You Free). This portion of the tour typically lasts two hours, during which you'll use a headset to hear your guide clearly. The group size is limited to 30 people, as per the Museum's regulations, ensuring a comfortable and accessible experience for all participants. Explore the original wooden barracks, fortified walls, barbed wire fences, gas chambers, and crematoria, which together leave a haunting impression and allow visitors to grasp the immense scale of the Holocaust.2 hours -Admission Ticket Included3: Panstwowe Muzeum Auschwitz-BirkenauAfter visiting the first camp, you'll have a short break of up to 15 minutes. Following this, we will take you to the second part of the tourBirkenau (Auschwitz II), located just 3 minutes away. Birkenau, the largest camp, was built and operated with the sole purpose of making Europe "Judenrein" (free of Jews). Your guide will continue the powerful narrative at Birkenau, located in the village of Brzezinka. Constructed in 1941 under the orders of SS commander Heinrich Himmler, the camp could hold around 90,000 prisoners. Youll hear harrowing accounts of the brutal living conditions, the cruel selection process, and the pseudo-scientific medical experiments carried out by Nazi doctors, including Josef Mengele. The tour concludes with a story of liberation when soldiers from the 60th Army of the First Ukrainian Front opened the gates of Auschwitz on January 27, 1945, leaving you with a profound understanding that such genocide should never have occurredand must never happen again.1 hour 30 minutes -Admission Ticket Included4: WieliczkaIn a second part of the day, you will be transferred to Wieliczka Salt Mine, which happens to be one of the oldest working salt mines in the World. WHAT TO EXPECT1: KrakowYour tour begins with transportation from Krakow (hotel or address you specified). Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum is located in the town Oswiecim, about 1h15min in one way (65km). Every driver we cooperate with has all required by EU permissions for passenger transport. An English speaking and friendly leader of the group will assist you at any time you need. After arriving in Oswiecim, have a short break to grab a coffee or keep an eye on outdoor exhibitions. Then be kindly introduced to your local and professional guide who is licensed by Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum.2 hours -Admission Ticket Free2: Panstwowe Muzeum Auschwitz-BirkenauStart your tour by walking through the gate to the first camp - Auschwitz I - originally conceived as a concentration camp, to be used as a detention centre for the many Polish citizens arrested after Germany annexed the country in 1939, with the most recognizable sign Arbeit Macht Frei (Work Makes You Free). This part usually takes 2 hours and you will be using a headset to hear your guide clearly. The group according to the Museums rule counts up to 30 people making the visit comfortable and accessible for every participant. Visit the original wooden buildings, fortified walls, barbed wires, gas chambers and crematoria - all of those leave a shocking impression allowing to imagine the scale of Holocaust.2 hours -Admission Ticket Included3: Panstwowe Muzeum Auschwitz-BirkenauAfter the 1st camp short break up to 15 minutes is planned. You will be taken by us to visit the second part of the tour - Birkenau (Auschwitz II), only 3 minutes away, which is the largest camp built and operated for the specific purpose of making Europe ''Judenrein'' (free of Jews). The same guide continues a poignant lecture about the camp in the village Brzezinka (Birkenau) which was constructed in 1941 on the order of Heinrich Himmler (SS commander) and could hold some 90 000 prisoners. You will be told about terrible stories of unimaginable living conditions as well as cruel selection and pseudo-scientific medical experiments made by prominent Nazi doctors including Josef Mengele. A history about soldiers of the 60th Army of the First Ukrainian Front opened the gates of Auschwitz on January 27, 1945, which meant the final liberation, ends your tour with a feeling, both this genocide should never have happened and it can not happen again.1 hour 30 minutes -Admission Ticket Included4: KrakowAfter completing the tour, the driver will drop you at your hotel or address in Krakow.

There are many possibilities to reach this small town: public transport of Krakow, train, transport companies. Tourist have several alternative ways of communication. Private transfer with a bus adapted to the number of participants is a great convenience and most likely best choice for visitors. The road network is perfectly developed, so the options are numerous. Below is a brief description of the place that everyone recall with sentiment.
Wieliczka salt mine from the 13th century to 1772 was part of the Cracow Saltworks. The salt extracted in the mine is date back to the Miocene period. In 1976 mine was listed at the Polish national registry of monuments, and then in 1978 it was registered on the UNESCO list. The mine is a place visited by big numbers of tourists from Poland and abroad.
Geologically, the mine is located in the western part of the Subcarpathian Salt Deposits, which age is estimated to be about 14 million years. Wieliczka salt layer is about 10 km long, 600-1500m wide and thick from a few to about 400 meters.
Initially, salt was extracted through "salt sources" - spontaneous brine outflows. The first exploits date back to the Middle Neolithic period (3 thousand years BCE)Then, at the turn of the twelfth and thirteenth century, drilling of deeper wells began. Wieliczka became a place where shallow deposits of salt were found. Gradually, wells turned into shafts - paths of vertical communication with horizontally running sidewalks and excavations. As a result of dynamic changes, a mine was established.
Due to its sanitary conditions, the Wieliczka mine conducts rehabilitation stays for people with upper respiratory tract disorders and asthma. The treatments are carried out in the Wassel Lake chamber. The mine provide unique microclimate, high humidity and sodium chloride content, constant temperature (about 14-16 ° C), pressure, ionization and high content of potassium, magnesium and calcium in the air.
Cracow Saltworks Museum was established in 1951 at mine area . Its founder and long-time director was Professor Alfons Dugosz. The Wieliczka Mine is one of the world mining facilities, that was operational since the Middle Ages to the present.
The mine offers a Tourist Route and an underground exhibition of the Cracow Saltworks Museum. The Underground Tourist Route of Wieliczka mine was established at the turn of the 18th and 19th century. It is an amazing fact that about a million tourists annually visit about 3 km of a route consisting of 20 chambers, located at a depth of up to 135m. Another interesting fact is that to cover the entire route, you have to overcome about 800 stairs.3 hours -Admission Ticket Included2: Panstwowe Muzeum Auschwitz-BirkenauAuschwitz-Birkenau former German Nazi concentration and extermination camp.
