Buracas do Casmilo Private Hiking Tour from Coimbra
- Type:Hiking and Trekking Tours
- Duration:8 Hours
OVERVIEWWe invite you to live an experience in the imposing Massif of Sicó that shapes this wild scenery, as well as the way of life of the people. Here, side by side, stone and man steadfastly resist the wear and tear of time. You look around and the entire landscape appears dominated by the sharp edges of the stone.
On the way to Buracas valley, we will hike in fields of lapiás, authentic stone cemeteries, dolinas (sinkholes) and hold your breath for the most impressive scenery of all: the Casmilo caves, popularly known as the mouths of the mountains. Then we will enter the canyon and hike to the Our Lady of Circulo Santuary, in the top of the mountain, and visit the Outeiro windmill! In this hike we will also pass in three mountain villages.
IMPORTANT: Feel safe, we have the "Clean & Safe" seal from Turismo de Portugal!

Discovering the historic village of Monsanto
- Type:Day Trips and Excursions
- Duration:8 Hours
OVERVIEWOur adventures are not just made of Nature and proof of this is our visit to the historic village of Monsanto
In 1938, this was considered the most Portuguese village in Portugal and was awarded the silver rooster that it still proudly displays today on its Lucano tower.
In this village everything seems magical, its location on the slope of a granite outcrop meant that the village's inhabitants built houses using the huge boulders as part of the housing structure, often defying the laws of physics.
At the top we find the Monsanto castle which still shows its grandeur and the ingenuity of the Portuguese people who built it, also becoming known in recent years for being one of the settings for the famous series "Game of Thrones"
All of this will always be accompanied by breathtaking landscapes and unforgettable displays of nature.INCLUDESTransport with collection in the Coimbra areaPersonal Accident Insurance and LiabilityAccompaniment by qualified technical guides all the wayPhotographs of the tourCoffee and/or TeaEXCLUDESLunchMEETING AND PICKUPMeeting pointCoimbraAventuras Forte(s) - Turismo de NaturezaPickup pointsThe supplier will pick up customers from select hotels, or customers can make their own way to the starting pointOptions and Start timeDiscovering the historic village of Monsanto:09:00 AMEnd pointThis activity ends back at the meeting point.Pickup detailsWe carry out transfers anywhere in the Coimbra regionWHAT TO EXPECT1: Portas de RodaoViewpoint to Portas de Rodão and Rei Vamba Castle30 minutes -Admission Ticket Included2: Aldeia historica de MonsantoConsidered in 1938 the most Portuguese village in Portugal3 hours -Admission Ticket IncludedADDITIONAL INFOService animals allowedSuitable for all physical fitness levelsNot wheelchair accessibleThis tour/activity will have a maximum of 7 travelersCANCELLATION POLICYFor a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time. This experience requires good weather.
