Meet a driver at your Funchal hotel then travel to the northeast side of Madeira, where your first stop of the day is the town of São Vincente, a coastal village set in a picture-perfect valley.

Youll get panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and sea as you travel, then continue to a traditional factory and water mill to get a sense of the industries that once fueled Madeiras island economy.

The route continues to a series of communities, including Ponta Delgada, Boa Ventura, Arco de So, Jorge, and Cabanas, passing gardens, forest landscapes, and old-fashioned architecture along the way.
