After only few miles we will stop for visiting another historical place - a palace near Bucharest, where we can have a short stop and even visit if the time allows us.
We will continue our route to the next historical site for another 40 km, following asphalt roads, mostly quiet, across little villages around the city.

2: Palatul Brancovenesc

After 60 km ride we will reach another site on our way - another historical palace, with a tragic history during the communism time. Here we can also stop for lunch and for photos.
The route back is 40 km on similar roads.

It was here, at around 10:30 on December 21, 1989, that the Nicolae Ceausescu regime began to crumble. A large crowd of well over 100,000 people which had been brought in to dutifully cheer Ceausescu in the time-honored way in fact jeered him on live television. The dictators astonished face when he realizes he is being booed is captured on video seconds before transmission is cut and the Romanian revolution begins.

A white marble triangle, with the inscription Glorie martirilor nostri (Glory to our martyrs) points (slightly inaccurately) to the low balcony above the entrance of the former Central Committee building (today the Ministry of Internal Affairs) from where Ceausescu held his last public speech. He fled by helicopter from the roof of the building late the next morning.

The Ceauescu Mansion was for a quarter of a century (1965-1989) the private residence of Nicolae and Elena Ceauescu and of their children, Nicu, Zoia, and Valentin.

Built in the mid-1960s and known at the time as the Spring Palace, the mansion was enlarged between 1970 and 1972. The preferred choice for the design of the Ceauescu familys residence was Aron Grimberg-Solari (born 1928). The architecture of the palace is complemented by landscaping conceived by the architect Robert Woll (who was also the main furniture designer for the house) and the landscape engineer Teodosiu.

The spatial qualities and balanced volumes of the Ceauescu Mansion are striking, as is its luxurious and comfortable interior, the work of the architects Robert Woll and Agrippa Popescu.

The Choral Temple is a synagogue located in Bucharest. It is a copy of Viennas Leopoldstadt-Tempelgasse Great Synagogue. The synagogue was devastated by the far-right Legionaries/Nazis, but was then restored after World War II, in 1945.
It still hosts daily religious services in the small hall, being one of the few active synagogues in the city and in Romania.

2: Museum of History of the Jewish Community

The amazing Holy Union Temple synagogue was constructed in 1836, this building has served as a museum of Jewish history since 1978. A number of separate exhibitions display how the once vibrant Jewish community of Bucharest used to live, while there is also an impressive Jewish liturgical collection, most of which was assembled by Moses Rosen, Romania's chief rabbi from 1964-94 who founded the museum.

3: Holocaust Memorial

Unveiled in October 2009, Romania's Holocaust Memorial finally recognises the country's role in the genocide of Europe's Jews. As the Wiesel Report - commissioned by the Romanian government to investigate the Holocaust in Romania - concluded, no country outside Germany was responsible for the deaths of more Jews than Romania. The memorial itself comprises a column on which each side is written a single Hebrew letter. Taken together they read zachor (remember). There is also a hall of remembrance, and a number of plaques containing the names of many Romanian Holocaust victims.

1: Bran Castle (Dracula's Castle)

If you are looking for 7 hours of adventure to cut yourself off from the stress of everyday life, we have put together for you a one-day tour of the Bran Castle! We'll spend about 90 minute in the castle, the rest it's diving from Bucharest and back, also we have a lot of things to admire during our journey!
