WHAT TO EXPECT

1: Dewars Aberfeldy Distillery

Your visit will start with a short film in the auditorium, followed by a chance to explore the heritage centre and discover more about the remarkable history of John Dewar & Sons. This part of your visit is self guided with the aid of audio guides/ipads, available in various languages. Your experienced tour guide will then take you on a tour of the Aberfeldy Distillery and warehouse so you can learn more about the whisky making magic! The tour ends with a wee dram in the whisky lounge for adults / seniors. Drivers can request a take-away pack to create a Maime Taylor cocktail at home.

Your ticket does not include transport to/from the distillery. The distillery is located on the outskirts of picturesque Aberfeldy, nestled on the banks of the River Tay, 20 mins from the A9 in Highland Perthshire, 90 minutes from Edinburgh. Free parking.

Additional tastings and whisky cocktails are available at the bar. You can browse the shop showcasing the full Dewar's portfolio along with exclusive limited edition single cask bottlings and fill your own bottle with a specially selected cask of Aberfeldy Single Malt.

Your visit will start with a short film in the auditorium, followed by a chance to explore the heritage centre.

Your experienced guide will take you into our Blending Room where you will create your own 100ml bottle of your own Blended Scotch Whisky.

Your ticket does not include transport to/from the distillery. The distillery is located on the outskirts of picturesque Aberfeldy, nestled on the banks of the River Tay, 20 minutes from the A9 in Highland Perthshire, and 90 minutes from Edinburgh. Free parking.

This experience takes place at 11 am Monday - Saturday.

Stand Up Paddle Boarding allows you a unique way to explore rivers and lochs; its a whole new experience which includes thrills and relaxation all at the same time. You can meander down a river and enjoy the natural beauty of the river on your paddleboard.

You will be provided with everything you need to do Stand Up Paddle Boarding safely. However we do ask you to bring an old pair of shoes to wear on the river (These will get wet), and your swimwear for underneath your wetsuit. Optional a non cotton T-shirt (synthetic materials are best) for under your wetsuit. Depending on the time of the year, you should bring warm clothing for before and after your trip.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Meet at the Aberfeldy rafting base on the River Tay, and join up with your instructor-guide. The Tay is perfect for first-time rafters, offering ideal conditions for learning rafting skills.

Don a wetsuit, life vest, helmet, and paddle, and after safety briefings and instructions, climb into your raft. Rafting groups are of various sizes and for all ages from children aged eight and over. Each raft has an onboard guide, and photos will be taken of your trip for you to download afterward.

When you're ready, begin your 6-mile (9.6-kilometer) journey, initially paddling along calm stretches of water. Absorb the tranquility and watch for wildlife as the river winds through rolling hills, and along the way, learn rafting techniques and enjoy fun challenges and games set by your guide.

Get ample time to practice before you reach the first rapids, allowing you to tackle them with confidence. Cross the Zoom Flume, and Washing Machine, and then navigate the last and longest section, known as the Grandtully Rapid, which has one or two surprises in store!

Disembark at Grandtully and transfer to Aberfeldy where your 3-hour experience concludes. Feel free after your trip to download your rafting photos as souvenirs.

The home of Dewars Whisky is our neighbour and we raft past the distillery. A thrilling white water rafting experience, groups are accompanied by experienced guides. You can expect adventure, excitement and guaranteed fun!
