This mountain walking experience begins by meeting and getting to know your guide. The Cairngorms have high mountains, dramatic cliffs and secret corners. We'll advise on a route that suits your experience and group and will always give you several options.
We'll need to make a short drive to our start point, but will soon be stepping away from the crowds and into the famous Highland wilderness. With luck we'll spot some of the rare creatures and plants that call this stark, beautiful landscape home. Look out for Eagles, Mountain hares, Ptarmigan and even Reindeer!
Our mountain experience might take us into a deep glacial bowl to search for climbers amongst the cliffs, onto an airy ridge line, into a valley to spy a secret lake and hidden cave or onto a high and haunted mountain top. You choose! Wherever we go, your guide will have plenty to show you and there'll be lots of photo opportunities.

Your day begins in the morning when you meet your fully qualified Mountaineering Guide for a discussion about what to expect during the experience. They'll answer any questions you have and supply you with everything you'll need to stay safe.
After a short drive, we continue our approach to the ridges on foot via established mountain paths. Our walk usually takes around an hour. On the way we'll see some great views and hopefully some rare wildlife.
When you arrive below your climb, you'll be fitted with a harness and helmet and attached to your Guide by climbing rope. They'll lead the route by climbing ahead and securing your rope above you. Our Guides will keep you safe, provide advice and encouragement and take epic photos!

Your experience starts by meeting and getting to know your qualified climbing instructor. We run our rock climbing experiences in various locations across the Northern Cairngorms, with scenic venues suitable for families and novices and exciting mountain venues suitable for confident beginners right through to experienced climbers. We'll help you decide on the best venue for your group and provide all the equipment you'll need to stay safe.
Some venues have a short scenic walk through ancient woods to approach, other venues involve heading high into the mountains, either way; it's an opportunity to discover another part of this beautiful area.
Your climbing instructor will teach you basics of rope-work, help improve your climbing technique and of course; keep you safe throughout! There'll be lots of opportunities for photos and everyone in your group will get to try several climbs and abseils. Your day begins in the morning when you meet our fully qualified Winter Mountaineering Guide for a discussion about what to expect during the experience. They'll answer any questions you have and supply you with everything you'll need to stay safe.
After a short drive, we continue our approach into the Cairngorms on foot. Sometimes crampons and an ice axe are required for this section, but your guide will instruct you on their safe use. Our approach walk usually takes around an hour. Look out for climbers on the frozen cliffs around you and the snow topped winter mountains stretching into the distance.
When you arrive below your climb, you'll be fitted with a harness and helmet and attached to your Guide by climbing rope. With ice axes deployed and crampons attached they'll lead the route by climbing ahead and securing your rope above you.
