If youre in the Seychelles, why not spend a day amid the postcard-perfect scenery of Cap Ternay National Park off the north coast of Mahé? Whether you choose to snorkel through the rich marine life or just float in the crystal-clear waters of a sand bank, youll feel your senses ignite at being so immersed in nature.

We depart from Eden island, in front of the Maharaja restaurant at 9a.m. You may park at the Eden Plaza basement parking.. After a 25-minute boat heading north of Mahe island, youll have the opportunity to go snorkeling and hopefully see rays, turtles and even baby sharks, among the large variety of other marine life.

You will be visiting Cap Ternay bay, Anse Majore and Therese Islands. Lunch location will be determined by yourselves, and the skipper on board depedning on sea condition etc.

After some time relaxing, we make the return trip to the marine charter marina, Victoria, at 4.30 p.m., rounding off a truly memorable experience.

Clients will be picked up from their hotel and transported to the Le Niole road, where we will start our journey to discover the Mare aux Cochons trail located in the Morne Seychellois national park. Mar aux cochons is one of the most important high altitude wetland on Mahe island and the trail to the wetland allows explorers to discover the flora and fauna of Seychelles with a sense of adventure.

After lunch, there is ample time for marine enthusiasts to explore the reefs through the windows of our semi-submersible versel or for those more geared to relaxation, take a swim or simply take a nap on the beach of Cerf Island. For a perfect ending of the day, a "petit rum punch des Iles" is served on board before heading back to the Marine Charter and to your hotel.

OVERVIEW

This is a wild and scenic coastal walk with views of waves breaking on the granite boulders. The first part of the trail is through patches of open woodland areas, small river valleys and over exposed, rocky ridges. Enjoy spectacular views across the sea over Silhouette and North islands.
The trail continues over Glacis slopes, stretching above and below the path. The vegetation is mostly endemic and indigenous species, adapted to survive in such harsh conditions. Endemic birds such as Bulbul, Blue Pigeon Sunbirds may be seen. To get to the main beach, you must cross a small river outlet which emerges from a brackish water marsh. The sandy beach invites relaxation or snorkeling on the reef.

The trail is both botanically and ornithologically interesting. Many native species of plants and endemic birds such as black parrots, bulbuls and blue pigeons can easily be seen. This walk is within the national park, and is mostly in open areas.
From the early part of your adventure, you will see splendid views over the sea of Cousine island and beyond to Silhouette. As you climb higher, youll be further rewarded with sights of the northeastern coast on St.Pierre and Chauve Souris islands. The last 180m of the trail is in an endemic palm forest of latanyen palmist, and of pandanus that opens up at the top of Glacis Noir. It is in fact due to microscopic blue green algae that give the rock its dark colour, hence its name meaning black glacis/slope. All the islands around Praslin can be seen on this walk in all their splendour, including La Digue, Curieuse and Aride.

Tea Tavern Glacis Nature trail.. This nature trail is short (20-30minutes) and easily accessible from the road between Victoria and Port Glaud. The path start just above the Tea Factory and is not far from the Morne blanc Nature trail and the Mission heritage site. The trail present a wonderful opportunity to view natural vegetation growing with little competition from introduced species, as it is part of a habitat restoration site in the Morne seychellois National Park. There are magnificent views to the West and South of Mahe Island.

The Morne Seychellois National Park is situated on the island of Mahe, the largest island of the Seychelles archipelago. Victoria, on Mahé Island, is the capital city of the Seychelles archipelago in the Indian Ocean. Seychelles National Botanical Gardens showcases endemic palms and orchids, as well as giant tortoises and fruit bats. The colorful Sir Selwyn Clarke Market sells spices, fruit, art and souvenirs. Near the Cathedral of Our Lady of Immaculate Conception is the imposing La Domus, built in 1934 to house Catholic missionaries.

The Mission Ruins of Venn's Town is situated on Mahé Island more precisely in the South-West of the Morne Seychellois National Park, at an altitude of 450 m. The site lies 6 km from the town and it can be reached by vehicle in 20 minutes.

The Sainte Anne Marine Park was created in 1973 for the preservation of wildlife, the first of its kind in the Indian Ocean. There is much to see in the Ste. Anne Marine National Park, which is set amid dazzling turquoise waters and is thus, a perfect snorkelling spot. Situated about 5km from the main island of Mahé, this picturesque Marine Park comprises 6 islands just off the coast of Mahe. These islands include Ste Anne, Ile Moyenne, Ile Ronde, Ile Longue, Ile Cachee and Ile aux Cerfs. It also has one of the largest areas of "seagrass meadows" in the Seychelles.

Sainte Anne Island (Pass by)

Sainte Anne Island is the largest of Sainte Anne Marine National Parks eight islands, and it is full of stunning beaches.
Ste.Anne island is the site of the first French settlement in 1770, a courageous undertaking as the island was surrounded by swamps teeming with crocodiles. Dominated by a hill rising to 246m and surrounded by thick tropical vegetation, Ste.Anne served as a base for the Royal Marines (during World War II), who assured the defense of Victoria, the capital of Seychelles. In the early decades of the 19th century it was also the base for whaling activity in the Seychelles.

Cerf Island (Pass by)

Cerf Island is the second largest island in this Marine Park. Named after the frigate Le Cerf commanded by Corneille Nicolas Morphey, who took possession of the Seychelles in the name of the King of France in 1756. Lush vegetation, shallow water and beautiful reefs ensure superb snorkeling, swimming and scuba diving.

Moyenne Island (Pass by)

Moyenne Island just under half a kilometer long is privately owned. Amongst the lush vegetation of this wonderful tropical garden are the remains of early settlers homes, pirates graves and a small thatched chapel.

Round Island (Pass by)

This small rocky island The reefs and lagoons of the island offers a spectacular underwater world for exploration. Green sea turtles live on the very edges of the coral reefs, and they sometimes venture closer to the island. There are butterfly fish, eagle rays, moray eels and many other species of fish.

Cachée Island (Pass by)

The tiny island is also known as Isle Cachée island. The name of the island in French means "hidden", and as its name suggests it appears hidden either behind Cerf or appear to be part of Cerf Island. It is also rumoured that pirates once buried some of their stolen treasure on Isle Cachée and is classified as a nature reserve.
The island has an area of 0.022 km², and it is a nesting site for seabirds.

WHAT TO EXPECT
Spend the day discovering one of Seychelles main attractions.

If youre in the Seychelles, why not spend a day amid the postcard-perfect scenery of Ste Anne Marine National Park off the north coast of Mahé? Whether you choose to snorkel through the rich marine life or just float in the crystal-clear waters of a sand bank, youll feel your senses ignite at being so immersed in nature.

We depart from Eden island, in front of the Maharaja restaurant at 9a.m. You may park at the Eden Plaza basement parking.. After a 20-minute boat ride in a mostly protected bay, youll have the opportunity to go snorkeling and hopefully see rays, turtles and even baby sharks, among the large variety of other marine life.

At 11 a.m. we make our way to Moyenne Island National Park, a conservation sanctuary with more species per square foot than anywhere else in the world. Now inhabited by over a hundred giant tortoises, a few caretakers and a dog called Yellow, among richly varied plant and bird life, Moyenne was once the home of Englishman Brendon Grimshaw, a former newspaper editor who bought the previously uninhabited island in 1962 and lived there alone until his death in 2012. Stroll along the islands 3 miles of nature paths finding out about him, including how hes buried there alongside two pirates. Dont be surprised if Yellow follows along!

We break to enjoy a sumptuous local Creole buffet lunch at the Jolly Roger Bar and Restaurant at 1.30 p.m., before heading to one of the beaches around Ste Anne Marine National Park (to be determined by tide and weather) at about 3 p.m, or go feed the fish.

After some time relaxing, we make the return trip to the marine charter marina, Victoria, at 4.30 p.m., rounding off a truly memorable experience.
