Situated in a World Heritage Site, The Cradle of Humankind, this 1 200-hectare park is home to over 700 head of game including white rhino, lion, buffalo, cheetah, wild dog, hippo and crocodile. Their newly built breeding centre houses, amongst others, Bengal and Syberian tigers, jaguars and white lions. If your holiday is nearing its end, but you still need to get those photos to impress your friends - this is it! We conduct a driving tour in our closed air-conditioned Ulysses vehicle through the Park and predator camps and the tour is concluded with a walk through their breeding centre and crèche area.

The Wonder Caves are one of the most beautiful naturally decorated caves in South Africa. Since its discovery only 100 years ago, few people have entered the Caves and it is thus relatively well preserved and virtually untouched. The enormous cave chamber with a volume of 46 000 cubic metres is believed to be 2.2 million year old. Hourly tours are conducted on well-lit pathways where no crawling is necessary. 1: The Cradle of Humankind

To the west of Johannesburg where the Highveld starts its descent to the "Bushveld" from the gold bearing ridge of the Witwatersrand lies an area of undulating hills referred to as the Cradle of Humankind. It gains its name from the huge amounts of fossil remains of early man and our more apelike ancestors discovered here in the dolomite caves just beneath its surface. The unusual geology of the region has made it one of the richest fossil bearing regions in the world not just of early apemen but many other extinct creatures.

2: Sterkfontein Cave

The Sterkfontein Caves are the Cradle of Humankinds most authentic location as it is here wher the greatest number of hominid and early our ape relatives fossils have been discovered. Please think carefully about taking the tour down in to the caves as if you have mobility issues or suffer from severe claustrophobia. The walkways can be wet and slippery and bending double and some body twisting to get through some spaces along the way may be required ( more so if you are of large or tall stature). But be brave if you can it is really worth it!

3: Maropeng Visitor Centre

To attract more visitors to the area another site has been created at Maropeng to the north. At Maropeng inside a great hollow mound is a presentation on the history and prehistory of our species. It is very popular with the busloads of school children that visit the area. But the interactive displays fascinate both old and young. And to add to it's attraction the latest fossil discoveries of what purported to be a new species of early ancestor of mankind called Homo Naledi are on display. From the top of the mound are wonderful views of the countryside as far as the Magaliesberg Mountains. There is a restaurant for light meals, curio shop and footpaths have been laid to explore the "highveld" grasslands surrounding the venue.

The Apartheid Museum is internationally recognized as one of the best museum of the 20th Century. After two to four hours you spend in, allow yourself another half an hour to contemplate brutality you witnessed inside, process your shock and walk away with relief knowing you are on the terrain where truth spoke to power and won.

The Apartheid Museum showcases South Africa in the turbulent years of the apartheid. During this period, millions of people were subjected to a life of servitude, discrimination and oppression until the country was liberated.

The ride begins at Groenkloof Nature Reserve (30 to 40 minutes drive from Sandton) with setting up the bike for the height of the person and explaining how the gears work and how they can increase the power to the pedal-assist if needed. E-bikers then have time to practice and get comfortable on the bicycle before moving out on the adventure.

e-Bikes effectively make the world flat and are exhilarating to drive uphill. They eat up the steeper hills with minimal effort (depending on your level of fitness). The Apartheid Museum traces the history of this abhorrent form of South African society but also celebrates our emergence out of it into a brave multicultural democracy that still strives to attain equality of opportunity fro all its citizens . It has been described as a masterpiece of Museum design. There is incredible depth to the exhibits and the multi media narratives they illustrate and although they do create a feeling of sadness at the injustices committed spirits are raised by the stories of heroic South Africans who fought and died to create a pathway to something better. You can easily spend the whole day here and still not see it all but 2 hours will give you a good overview of what it was like to live here during these bad old days.There is a book and curio shop focusing on relevant items, and a coffee bar serving light meals. Next to it indigenous grasses and plants are grown to give a glimpse of what this area of the "veld" would have looked like before Joburg existed.

2: Hector Pieterson Memorial

The killing of a 12-year-old child by police firing on demonstrating school children is commemorated here along with the 70 or more others who died on that fateful but momentous day on the 16th of June 1976. The date is now our National Youth Day and a public holiday.

The Cradle of Humankind is one of 8 UNESCO World Heritage Sites in South Africa. Here the landscape is dotted with subterranean limestone caves that have turned up a rich fossil record for human evolutionary studies. These findings have led to the 'Out of Africa' theory, theorising that most human ancestors originated from one general spot Africa.

Lesedi The Place of Light - is a multi-cultural African village, an hours drive from Pretoria and Johannesburg.

Guests are invited to the Ndebele Village where an additional welcome by all the people of Lesedi, takes place. The cultural programme begins with a multi-visual presentation on the history and origins of todays rainbow nation. This is followed by a guided tour of the four ethnic homesteads Zulu, Basotho, Xhosa and Pedi. As the sun sets over the African bush, guests are escorted to the boma for traditional singing and dancing (you are voluntarily requested to participate in this) depicting stories that date back to the days of their ancestors. The guests are then treated to a Pan African Buffet in the Nyama Choma Restaurant with delicacies from North, East and Southern Africa.
