WHAT TO EXPECT

The Anaga Mountains occupy a large section of the north-east part of Tenerife and consists of coastline, ravines, Laurel forests and villages that are so remote it is amazing that anyone actually lives in them. This whole area is a protected natural landscape, it is breathtakingly beautiful and full of twists and turns that will delight and amaze. Our walk is a great introduction to the area and its outstanding natural beauty. It is full of spectacular contrasts, and home to a wealth of native fauna and flora, a direct result of the region's isolation and ecological variety. The areas special climate has led to the existence of one of the most important specimens of laurisilva or laurel forest in the world. This primitive forest dates from the Tertiary Period and is only preserved in the Canaries, Madeira and several islands of the Azores. Laurisilva is an extremely important resource, since its dense mass retains moisture, refills the aquifers (natural water deposits on the island), as well as creating and preserving fertile soil. There are many routes in this area.
Distance: typically about 12 km, with up to 600m ascent/descent, moderate to hard taking 5 hours.

Our translators meet us on site, and the main stargazing presentation can be delivered in your selected language. Dont worry you wont miss anything! They will catch you up on anything the English guide mentions during the bus journey.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Enjoy a seamless pickup from South Tenerife, taking you straight to a local Canarian restaurant. Here, you can savor a traditional dinner and drinks, complemented by scenic mountain views.

Post-meal, it's time to relax as transport is provided through the island's striking lava fields and forests, and no taxi bookings are necessary. Your guide then leads you to an ideal vantage point to watch the sunset with Mount Teide as your backdrop, accompanied by a glass of cava to toast the moment.

As the evening arrives, youll venture to Mirador de las Narices del Teide. Here, you can utilize powerful telescopes and lasers to see views of the stars invisible to the naked eye. Enjoy informative guide commentary, as well as a free photo under the night sky. Then, conclude your evening with a comfortable transfer back to your hotel.

1: Los Cristianos

Our Pick Ups are from the South Zone only. We have a few stops at hotels picking up and then Drive straight to our first stop, the restaurant!

2: Chio

We stop after pick-ups and a short drive at one of the local Canarian restaurants. Here youll enjoy a light meal with drinks and have the chance to chat with the other travellers on the trip. Its a great way to meet new people who share your interest in stargazing.

The menu includes:

Half BBQ chicken, pork steak, or a vegetarian/vegan option

Served with Canarian potatoes, yellow rice, and mojo sauces

Dessert: cake

Your first drink and water are included

Wine and soft drinks are also available on the table

Dietary needs:
Vegetarian and vegan options are available every day, and we can also cater for coeliacs.

Canarian food is simple but delicious a great introduction to the traditional Canarian diet!

3: Parque Recreativo Pinar De Chio

After dinner, we head further into the mountains. Well travel through the islands most recent lava flows and into the forest itself. Here, we stop for an incredible sunset above the sea of clouds, with views of Mount Teide behind us and the lava fields surrounding us in the heart of the Coronal Forest.

Its the perfect spot to enjoy the sunset with a glass of cava! Well also take photos and a sunset time-lapse, which well share with you after your tour completely free!

4: Mirador de las Narices del Teide

From our sunset spot, its just a short 15-minute drive to a location among the prehistoric rock formations, where well be waiting with four high-powered, computerized telescopes and laser pointers to explore the wonders of the Universe from our own solar system to distant galaxies!

Well guide you through the constellations using a mix of mythology, science, and laser presentations, and the telescopes will bring the night sky to life as the darkness deepens, creating a truly unforgettable astronomical experience.

After Stargazing and another FREE PHOTO under the night skies, we head straight back to drop you off at your hotels or accommodation.
