WHAT TO EXPECT1: AiaWell leave the big cityand travel to rural Gipuzkoa to learn the secrets of Idiazabal cheese production in a traditional farmhouse. A kilo of this cheese usually goes for around 20 euros, although a competition is held every year to select the best cheese of the season, sometimes reaching up to 14,000 euros per ½ kilo! Well do a tasting, and youll hear the secrets of Basque cheeses. Youll taste traditional cheeses, all made with unpasteurized sheep's milk. This is the Real Thing, the Real Cheese.1 hour 30 minutes -Admission Ticket Free2: Gaintza TxakolinaTheres a Spanish expression that roughly translates as, With bread and wine you walk the road. Weve already eaten the bread and cheese. Well find the wine on the coast, in the hills overlooking the Cantabrian Sea, the ideal place for growing the grapes from which txakoli is born - a typical Basque white wine with a slight acidity, ideal to pair with fish. Well visit a small sustainable winery that uses traditional methods and grapes called Hondarrabi Zuri and Hondarrabi Beltza. Thus youll learn the intricacies and power of txakoli.1 hour 30 minutes -Admission Ticket Included3: Basque CountryAll this will take place near Getaria, the coastal town through which well take a short walk before eating. Getaria is not only the home of a mountain with a mouse-shaped profile, but its the hometown of two of the most well-known Basques: Juan Sebastián Elcano (the first to go around the world) and Cristóbal Balenciaga (the international designer known as the Prince of Fashion). More: our coast is famous for its charcoal-grilled fish, omnipresent in the streets closest to the portso it makes sense to have lunch here. Do you need a more compelling reason?1 hour 30 minutes -Admission Ticket FreeMonte Igueldo (Pass by)Its a dream road for two reasons: you can take a good nap after lunch and dream of sheep (latxas, of course), but we dont recommend it. The road back to San Sebastián is one of the most beautiful on the Basque Coast. It would be a pity to miss these winding roads (splashed by waves during heavy storms), or the cows grazing alongside quiet farmhouses on Mount Igeldo. You've been warned.ADDITIONAL INFOWheelchair accessibleInfants and small children can ride in a pram or strollerPublic transportation options are available nearbySpecialized infant seats are availableTransportation options are wheelchair accessibleAll areas and surfaces are wheelchair accessibleSuitable for all physical fitness levelsWheelchair accessibility is extra paid - contact for detailsPlease advise any specific dietary requirements at time of bookingNot wheelchair accessibleThis tour/activity will have a maximum of 8 travelersCANCELLATION POLICYFor a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.(For information purpose only - definite start times will show on voucher, once confirmed) -

WHAT TO EXPECT1: LandesWell pick you up promptly for a two and a half hour drive to our first stop, the lovely village of Saint-Émilion. Don't worry, time will pass quickly because our guide will fill you in on what were going to see. Well cross Les Landes, one of the largest pine forests in Europe, created by Napoleon III to stimulate the economy of what was then a big swampy, sandy wasteland. Well stop for a coffee and a croissant, of course (were in France, after all!).2 hours -Admission Ticket Free2: Saint-EmilionSaint-Émilion could be a set for a French romantic comedy but no, its real: a town of cobblestone streets that is devoted to wine production, and with excellent tips for lovers of gastronomy and architecture (an underground church totally excavated in rock in the Middle Ages? Yes!). More than enough reasons to be considered a UNESCO heritage site.20 minutes -Admission Ticket Free3: Château de LussacAfter the walk, well visit a family 'château' that has been producing wine since the 17th century. Well get to know its corners and walk through the vineyards (some of the oldest on the planet), where magic happens. Well try three Grand Cru Classé wines because a class in theory without the practice isnt the way to retain concepts. ;-)1 hour -Admission Ticket Free4: La Cave DourtheWell discover more wine secrets in the back-office of a local winery, as well as the greatness of this crop in this corner of France. Actually, we should say GREATNESS, all caps: did you know that there are more than 60 different Designations of Origin on the banks of the Garonne, Dordogne and Gironde rivers? And that more than 10,000 different wines are produced here? To understand all this, we have a sommelier to give us a masterclass and tasting (five great wines from different Bordeaux denominations) about the fascinating world of wine.1 hour -Admission Ticket Included5: Point De Vue PuyguilhemWhen the wine goes to your head, its time to eat. Well take you to a restaurant that combines centuries-old stone with a historic 'château', and with the glass of modern architecture. The menu? Local French cuisine with plenty of seasonal products, a touch of modernity and a parallel tasting of three local wines.1 hour 30 minutes -Admission Ticket IncludedADDITIONAL INFOWheelchair accessibleInfants and small children can ride in a pram or strollerPublic transportation options are available nearbySpecialized infant seats are availableTransportation options are wheelchair accessibleAll areas and surfaces are wheelchair accessibleSuitable for all physical fitness levelsWheelchair accessibility is extra paid - contact for detailsPlease advise any specific dietary requirements at time of bookingPlease carry your passport or your European Union IDNot wheelchair accessibleThis tour/activity will have a maximum of 8 travelersCANCELLATION POLICYFor a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.(For information purpose only - definite start times will show on voucher, once confirmed) -

Our helpful guide will explain what the heck 'flysch' and 'karst' are (spoiler: these arent Basque words), and will lead you through a unique space: the hermitage of San Telmo overlooking the void, the beach of Itzurun (Dragonstone, from the series Game Of Thrones), or the path along the cliffs.1 hour -Admission Ticket Free2: Getaria Fishing PortThen its on to Getaria (today we wont make it easy for you with Basque names): another adorable fishing village where Juan Sebastián Elcano, the first sailor to go around the world by boat in the 16th century, was born.
