Dalarö Kajak (Pass by)

Well meet at 09.00 at the office south of Stockholm before driving together to Dalarö, a charming little village, from where well begin paddling with our kayak . On the way itll come to your notice, one of those magnificent little wooden red houses, discreetly placed among the pines.

Well explore different islands by kayak all along the day. Our kayak tour will be granted by a filling meal that we will share on one of the deserted islands. There, well take time to rest, with only companion the swell of the Baltic and the singing birds. In the end of the afternoon, we will paddle towards Dalarö our starting point. Well go around other islands and get the opportunity to see other fantastic things from this part of the archipelago that is probably one of the nicest and wildest. Itd be magic to see a sea eagle circling around the islands, looking for the ideal prey. Maybe one of those numerous migratory birds like different types of goose or this famous great cormorant flying over the horizon on the direction to the north.

The head full of memories and after have been refilled with pure air, well return to Stockholm to come back to the joy of the civilisation.

We offer hotel pick up at all central hotels, ports and other accommodations within 3 km from Stockholm central station (you can use Google Maps to check your distance from Stockholm central station). If you're staying in the Old town (where it is not possible to get in by car) we may ask you to walk a few minutes to another location where we pick you up. If you are outside the pick up zone we will give you directions to a meeting place that is simple to get to with public transit. If you are unsure if you're in or out please email us after booking.

Pick up normally starts 30-60 minutes before depature. Please note that this is flexible depending on different factors like the number of reservations, time of year and traffic conditions.

We will be in touch two days in advance of a public tour with your final starting time, if you want to know beforehand or want that we arrange a fixed time for you please contact us by email.

If your ship arrives at S165 and S167 STADSGÅRDEN: Please walk a few hundred meters away from your ship while following the BLUE/GREEN lines. Go past the fences and guards, and your guide will wait there, with a sign saying "Viking Tours" on an A4-paper. NOTE: If you enter any other harbor number in STADSGÅRDEN than S165 or S167 please go outside the fences and guards and the guide will meet you there on the time of the tour. We recommend that you are available on cell phones to avoid issues during pick-up.

If your ship arrives at F638 FRIHAMNEN: Upon debarking the ship, please go through the terminal building. Once you go past the sliding doors (everyone else that departs the ship will walk out this way), the guide will meet you just outside the sliding doors. The guide will be holding an A4-paper saying "Viking Tours". NOTE: If you enter any other harbor number in FRIHAMNEN than F638 please go outside the fences and guards and the guide will meet you there on the time of the tour.

If your ship arrives at V523 VÄRTAHAMNEN: Walk from your ship towards the tourist buses, which is less than 10 meters from the ship hull. The guide will wait for you at the tourist bus area, near the buses, with an A4-paper, which says "Viking Tours." The guide will then direct you to the tour vehicle. If your ship arrives at NYNÄSHAMN: NO PICK UP INCLUDED HERE. That is due to it being 50 km away from Stockholm central station. We recommend you to contact us and decide on a meeting place in Central Stockholm. We will give directions on how to go there either by train or by taking one of the cruise buses going from the harbor into Stockholm.

In the morning, following pickup at your central Stockholm accommodation or port, travel with your guide and group

Stop first at Broby, a Viking graveyard, to learn about the only identified Viking woman's skeleton in Sweden. Next, cross the 495-foot (150-meter) Jarlabanke's bridge, built by the powerful Viking leader centuries ago, and discover a special runestone.

The tour ends at the southern end of Kungsträdgården, a beautiful park in Stockholm. It is possible to take the tram to Djurgården, the "island of the museums", where among others, the Vasa museum, the Viking museum, the Abba museum and the outdoor museum Skansen are located.

1: The Royal Swedish Opera

You will begin this picturesque journey with a short introduction to Sweden and Stockholm. The formal name of Sweden is Kingdom of Sweden. Many of the buildings you will see at this point have a Royal connection. The majestic Royal Palace in front of you was built at the beginning of the 18th century in the magnificent Baroque style. The Opera house figured in the opera "The Masked Ball" composed by Guiseppe Verdi about the Swedish king Gustav III. The beautiful house in the classic style on the other side of the square, which now houses the Ministry of Foreign affairs, was once the Heir Presumptive palace.

2: Parliament Building (Riksdagshuset)

Next, explore the history of the Swedish government. The Parliament Building was designed in the Neo-Renaissance style, with a Neo-Baroque style facade section. The parliament building was constructed between 1897 and 1905.

The predecessor of the parliament (riksdagen) was the Riksdag of the Estates (Ståndsriksdagen) where Nobility, Clergy, Burghers, and Peasants met separately for discussions before meeting the King in the palace. Until its dissolution in 1866, this institution was the highest authority in Sweden next to the King. In 1866 a parliament with two chambers was introduced, but without equal voting rights for all citizens. The first elections with general suffrage were held in 1921. This was after a long political struggle led by liberals and socialists. In 1975 the constitution was changed, and the two chambers of the parliament were merged into one. It was also confirmed that the king has only a representative role and no real power.

3: Riksbron

From the Riksbron bridge, you can marvel at the Knights Island, the Prime Minister's residence, the Government building, and the House of Nobility. You can also see the City Hall, where the yearly Nobel prize banquet is held.

4: Lejonbacken

"Lejonbacken" is on the north side of the Royal Palace. Lejonbacken is one of the most popular photo spots in Stockholm.

During the 17th and 18th centuries, Sweden was a great power in Northern Europe. You will see the Royal Garden with a statue of Karl XII, the last of the Swedish warrior kings. To the right of the park, you will see the Financial District, built at the turn of the 20th century - the period of the flowering of architectural styles.

You also see the Grand Hotel, the most prestigious hotel in Stockholm where the Nobel laureates stay when they come for the Nobel prize awarding ceremonies.

5: Slottsbacken

You will pass the inner courtyard of the Royal Palace and make a short visit to Palace Chapel, where the Royal family baptizes their children.

Outside the Royal Palace is a statue of Carl XIV Johan, who made an outstanding career in the Napolean army and then was adopted into the Swedish royal family. He was the first from the Bernadotte dynasty - the longest royal dynasty in the world, still ruling!

Carl XIV Johan was imported to Sweden from France to win back what we lost to the Russians in the Napolean wars. Instead, he put his efforts into diplomacy, building infrastructure and developing education. In 2014, 200 years of peace were celebrated in Sweden. The industrial revolution, natural resources and great Swedish inventions created a foundation for a welfare state.

6: Stortorget

Stortorget is the central square in Old Town and the most photographed place in Stockholm. The square is surrounded by beautiful houses in 17th-century Scandinavian Renaissance and 18th-century Classicism styles.

At Stortorget "The Bloodbath of Stockholm" took place in November 1530. Around 100 noblemen and priests were beheaded by the Danish king Christian II. He is since known as Christian the tyrant in Sweden.

The Nobel Prize Museum is situated at Stortorget. The Swedish Royal Academies and other committees designate the winners of the most prestigious prizes in many important fields of science and art.

7: Stockholm Old Town

From Stortorget you walk Köpmangatan, Merchants Street. This street has been mentioned in written material since 1350. You are guided through some narrow alleyways to feel the atmosphere of medieval times! You walk along Österlånggatan and down to Skeppsbron, where ships have loaded cargo since the seventeens century.

After gearing up at our base camp, we'll drive together to the best ice there is around Stockholm (can only be planned the day before). Remember that the weather conditions are out of our control, and there is no ice guarantee. If the ice conditions are not safe a winter hike will most likely be carried out instead, however last winter season we haven't had one single excursion on which we weren't able to skate :)

Dress for winter activity. Hat/beenie, gloves, 1 pair of warm socks are a must have! Think layers of clothes instead of very thick and warm ones. Downhill skiing pants and jackets are ok, thick running tights with wool long johns underneath. Avoid anything made of cotton (tee shirt and jeans).

Stockholm Old Town (Pass by)

Starting from our rendezvous bike shop in we will first stop at City Hall to take in the magnificent views, inner courtyard, and architecture. We will continue towards the city center, passing by Gamla Stan; the Old Town, on our way to Riddarholmen to enjoy breathtaking views of the City Hall from another angle as well as look out toward Sodermalm. We will talk about Ridderholmen Church, Birger Jarl, Gustav Vasa, Queen Cristina, the founding of Stockholm, and major historical events.

We will swing back through Old Town, visit the main plaza, great church, and pay a visit to the statue of St George and the Dragon before moving on into the city.

We will also pass by my favorite peppermint store! Did you know peppermint was invented in Sweden?

We will then continue on to Djurgaden at a leisurely pace soaking in the boardwalks, the easy bike lanes trees, passing by Skansen, Vasa Museum, Prince Eugen Palace, The National History Museum and more. At each point of interest, well stop share a story and take time for photos.

WHAT TO EXPECT
Visit some of Swedens most iconic castles on this 8h chastle tour. Join an expert guide visiting 3 castles. They all have a base in the 1600-1700s Sweden. Pikc up and drop if at cruize port/hotel are included if within 5km from the Stockholm central station.

1. Visit Royal Drottningholm anno 1699, an UNESCO world heritage area, and two other castles.

2. Wenngarn, home to Gabriel De La Gardie, one of Swedens richest men. He died here as a poor noble after the famous reduction.

3 Lunch in Sigtuna, the oldest city of Sweden.

4. Skokloster. A whole castle given as a morning gift to Carl Gustav Wrangels wife. Well preserved museum with silver and art displayed and drawing of the family preserved. (This castle is closed during the most of the low season so during that perios a guided tour at stockholm castle is included instead)

Those are all extremly well preserved castles but the last two maybe not so well known but hidden gems full of fashinating stories.

In all of those places the most famous Swedish nobles of their time visited. Both cruize ship and hotel pick up are included if your hotel/cruise ship are included (if within 5km from the stockholm central station).

Inside the pavilion, Chinese-inspired Swedish Rococo furniture stands alongside imported Chinese objects. Several of the rooms still have their original Chinese silk and paper wall coverings. There are also lacquered screens, stained glass, porcelain and other decorative objects, many of which were probably imported by the Swedish East India Company. However, some of the Chinese objects here are even older, including pieces from the times of Queen Hedvig Eleonora and Queen Kristina, when porcelain was incredibly expensive.

We have been teaching the full range of windsurfing courses in Stockholm since year 2000.
With our Dynamic Windsurfing Education System- 5 stages from the first time you set foot on a board. Come take advantage of our many years of expertise: you will soon head on to the next levels. As you improve and get ready for it, we offer lessons at more extreme spots in stronger wind, bigger waves and with a smaller board shape

The course starts with a theory part. Learn about basic sailing theory, important safety and windsurfing techniques. The instructor then take you out on the water to windsurf.

1: The Viking Museum

In the vivid exhibition you will meet the Vikings through movies, scenery, projections and sound effects as well as archaeological objects. Knowledgeable guides in Viking gear will answer all your questions and the many replicas let you explore life as a Viking with all your senses. You will learn about the Viking raids, journeys and mastery in ship building as well as the everyday life at the farm. The Norse mythology is present everywhere and here myth meets truth.
Ragnfrids saga is a Viking ride where you get to follow along on a trip to the Viking Age. The journey begins at Frösala Farm with Ragnfrid and her husband Harald. Then you proceed to go on a journey where you witness plundering in the west and slave trade in the east. With sounds, light and atmospheric environments you travel through the 11-minute journey that is told by Ragnfrid herself.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Just before sunset, meet your nature guide in central Stockholm at Kungsbro strand 21. Climb into the comfortable minivan drive out of the city center to begin your safari.

The dense forests and lush meadows of Sweden's countryside are just a short drive from the capital. Enjoy the beautiful setting as you ride through landscapes dotted with red-roofed cottages and head deep into the forest. Wildlife, including birds, hares, elk, deer and wild boar are abundant here. Before setting out on your search for these creatures, enjoy a Midsummer meal at an outdoor camp as your guide gives a short intro to the area and its native flora and fauna. Keep a special lookout for elk, who are known to emerge during this twilight time for food and water.

Take a 15-minute hike through the tranquil forest with your guide. Stop to see some ancient Viking rune stones and hear about their history.

At the conclusion of your 4-hour safari experience, return to central Stockholm for drop-off.
Spend an evening in Stockholms beautiful forest where youll have the chance to meet the other locals our resident wildlife!

In Stockholm, as is always the case in Sweden, nature is never far away. Just beyond the city limits are extensive lush forests and plenty of farming and agricultural land that are inhabited by a vast array of wildlife. Here, Moose, Deer, Foxes, Hares and Wild Boar roam undisturbed. Our Wildlife Safari runs during dusk, which is an optimal time to go in search of animals, and in particular, the Kings of the Forest who usually roam at sundown to graze and search for water.

Your guide will welcome you onboard our small and comfortable minivan before heading off on Safari to one of Stockholms most wildlife-rich areas. Before starting the safari, enjoy a Traditional Swedish Midsummer Meal at an outdoor camp as your guide explains more about the habitat surrounding you, and the animals that inhabit it. You will then navigate through rural landscapes characterised by traditional red cottages, classic manor houses, majestic forests and historical rune stones from the Viking age, searching for wildlife and once the sun has set you will return to the city.

Our Traditional Swedish Midsummer Meal will consist of 3 different herrings, freshly boiled potatoes, meatballs, sausages, boiled eggs with Kalles Kaviar and hard crispy bread with Västerbotten Cheese. We will enjoy fresh berries for dessert and we will have Lingonberry and Elderflower soft drinks.
