WHAT TO EXPECT

Head to Lausanne Ouchy tourism office at 10:15am, and then travel through the sunny winemaking region of Lavaux. As its UNESCO-listed vineyard terraces slip into the distance, the sights are replaced with the lake and alpine vistas that typify the Swiss Riviera. Stop at a popular vantage point to capture the scenery on camera, then continue your journey.

Your next stop is at Chaplins World, a museum that pays homage to the comic great. Learn about Charlie Chaplins life and his work through cinema as you explore the Hollywood-esque studio.

After 1.5 hours at the museum, youll make your way to the lakeside town of Montreux in time for lunch. Hear tales about the chic lakeside resort from your guide, and learn about the celebrities and artists who fell in love with its charms. Freddie Mercury, Aretha Franklin, Ella Fitzgerald, and Ray Charles are among its fans.

Hear more stories of Freddie Mercury on a visit to the Mountain Studio where his band Queen recorded Made in Heaven. After checking out the legendary recording studio inside the casino, youll have some time to enjoy at your leisure. Stroll along pretty streets lined with jazz festival landmarks and boutiques, then return to your transport to travel to Chillon Castle, set on an island on the west side of Lake Geneva.

As you explore, youll learn about the castles past and its historic importance for trade in the area. Like Montreux, the castle, too, had its share of famous admirers; Lord Byron was said to be inspired by it.

Your day trip ends with a drop-off back at the Lausanne start point around 4:45pm.

For the next 1 hour 30 minutes, prepare to be moved by one of the most surprising artists of the 20th century through the sets of his greatest films at this Hollywood-style Studio.

4: Chateau de Chillon

Experience Chillon Castle and visit this historical landmark for about an hour. Chateau de Chillon has a beautiful location on a small island in the far western end of Lake Geneva between Montreux and Villeneuve. This romantic castle was long of strategic importance in controlling trade in the Lake Geneva region. The dungeons inspired Lord Byron's writings.

Feel the atmosphere of Montreux on a free time- a glamorous tourist resort - where you'll spend approximately 1 hour 30 minutes to savor a tasty lunch (at own expense). Feel the atmosphere of all the great artists who have visited this place such as Aretha Franklin, Ella Fitzgerald, BB King, Ray Charles and many more. The emblem of the city is the statue of Freddy Mercury who once said, "If you want peace of soul, you should come to Montreux." This artist, who lived several years in Montreux recorded his last album with the group Queen, "Made in Heaven," in the Mountain Studio, which is inside the casino. You will have the chance to visit Queens old recording studio and time to wander through the streets full of fancy shops and landmarks of the famous jazz festival.
