WHAT TO EXPECT

Whether youve opted for the shorter queen flight, which holds up to 20 people, or the longer king flight for a more intimate group of just 12, your Cappadocia hot-air balloon experience begins with an early morning pick-up by air-conditioned minivan from your central hotel.

Thanks to mother nature, Cappadocia possesses one of the most otherworldly landscapes on earth. Compacted volcanic ash has been eroded over millions of years to reveal multi-colored layers, spires, and the so-called fairy chimneys. The best way to see it is by air.

First, enjoy a light preflight breakfast, with coffee and tea available for an additional pick-me-up. Then, travel to the launch point, where you meet your expert pilot and watch your colorful 100-foot (30-meter) balloon inflate.

As you lift off, the ground shrinks beneath you. Fly over Cappadocia at heights that can reach 1,000 feet (300 meters), see canyons, spires, plateaus, and undulating valleys.

Listen to your pilot illuminate the geological history of this region, and dont forget to snap a few photos. After your safe landing, once the balloon canvas has been removed, toast your flight with a glass of sparkling wine and receive your commemorative medal.

Relax on your drive back to your central Cappadocia hotel.

1: Cappadocia

The Cappadocia region of Turkey is the perfect location for a hot-air balloon flight. After complimentary pickup from your hotel by comfortable, air-conditioned minivan, take in views of the Turkish countryside as you head to the hot-air balloon office, where youll enjoy a complimentary light breakfast of fruit, sandwich, cold and hot drinks. Head to the nearby launch field and watch as your 100-foot tall (30-meter) hot-air balloon is inflated before boarding the balloon basket with your experienced pilot. Then, up you go!
As you fly through the Cappadocia valleys, take a close look at the rock formations and listen to your pilot's interesting commentary about Cappadocia's history and geological formations. See churches and houses carved into the rocks as the balloon climbs approximately 1,000 feet (300 meters). You would be presented with Royal Medal after flight.
