Day Hike: Mount Snowdon The Highest Mountain In Wales
- Type:Hiking and Trekking Tours
- Duration:6 Hours
OVERVIEWActive travelers seeking a challenge will enjoy hiking up the highest mountain in Wales, Mt. Snowdon. Hike confidently in a group and avoid taking the wrong path or getting in trouble if the weather turns bad. Your guide will take you on a quiet path, away from the crowds of other hikers. Enjoy the views from the top and the sense of accomplishment after you reach the bottom.A fun, active day out for reasonably fit travelersThe return hike takes around 6 hoursThe hike starts at a meeting pointtransfers are not includedBring your own packed lunch to eat along the wayINCLUDESFirst Aid KitEXCLUDESLunchMEETING AND PICKUPMeeting pointNational Park Authority Car ParkLook out for the leader looking all mountain guide like in the Snowdon Ranger car park. This is a pay for car park but it is not outrageously expensive, a few pounds.Options and Start timeDay Hike: Mount Snowdon The Highest Mountain In Wales:10:00 AMEnd pointThis activity ends back at the meeting point.WHAT TO EXPECTWe will lead this true mountain day, 14km and 900m of ascent, to the summit of this world-renowned mountain by a lesser-known path. A truly amazing mountaineering experience that is, with the help of the guide, available to novices through to old time adventurers alike. The day includes walking through farmland and then old mountain trails, stunning mountain ridges and of course the 360 degree panoramic views from the summit (weather permitting!)
With Snowdon being popular it's paths can become very crowded indeed. However, the path we will take for the ascent only ever has a handful of walkers and midweek we'll have it to ourselves! This is remarkable as Snowdon is quite rightly the most visited mountain peak in the UK. This allows our tour to the summit of Snowdon to be a relaxed event with a true flavour of isolation, a true mountain experience, so to speak.
The descent is 'off piste' and follows the escarpment edge, with, weather permitting, dramatic views straight down into the valley below and across to the slate town of Llanberis.Duration: 6 hoursADDITIONAL INFOService animals allowedPublic transportation options are available nearbyNot recommended for travelers with poor cardiovascular healthTravelers should have a high level of physical fitnessNot wheelchair accessibleThis tour/activity will have a maximum of 10 travelersCANCELLATION POLICYAll sales are final.
