Located within the Los Arrayanes National Park, it is the only one that remains in the world, since a few years ago the one that was in Japan disappeared. Today it became a protected area due to the importance of its species and the variety of native life.
The scientific name of the Arrayán is Myrceugenella apiculata. These native trees, along with those on Victoria Island, are estimated to be around 300 years old. The myrtle is very tall, reaching about 18 meters and some specimens reach up to 25 meters.
Its trunk reaches about 50 cm. in diameter and is extremely twisted. The bark, cinnamon colored covered with irregular white spots, is always cold although soft to the touch, it comes off in plates. The flowers are small and white, similar to orange blossom and its purple fruits with which the indigenous people made chicha and dulce. The usual itinerary is that we pick-up our guests from their hotel round 8.30am, our boats are launched followed by intense fishing until noon. Pending on location, the brake during the midday may vary, but if the bite is hot we of course fish as hard as the guest requires. A full lunch, beverages and some excellent Argentine Malbec wines is done on shady spot along the shore. Our trips vary from 8 to10 hours of fishing time, including transportation. However if the bite is on, we will fish longer at our guests request, without an extra charge. We can handle individuals up to groups of 8. Our team is serious fishermen, taking no greater pleasure then to maximize the fishing experience of our guests!

This is the most important river in the National Park, big water flowing out of the huge Nahuel Huapi from its eastern end about 17 km (11 miles) from the city, winding through dry, rocky mesas spotted with pine forests and offering wonderful scenery and great weather. Populated with mostly rainbow and brown trout, and some Patagonian perch, it offers countless opportunities for fishermen.
From November through March the dry fly possibilities abound, and during April, the amazing big trout migrate to the river from the lake. There are five different sections on the river to choose from, each about 10 miles long. The extremely clear water, beautiful scenery, and great fishing make this floating trip something truly unforgettable.
