2: Playa Parana

The tour begins in the city of Puerto Madryn, picking up each of the passengers at the agreed point. Then we will start touring the waterfront of the city until passing through the first panoramic point of the city, PUNTA CUEVAS.
Then we will take an Inter seaside route that would allow us to have access to different beaches, which we can access through the 4 x 4 truck to visit each of these places, to enjoy landscapes, beaches and unique views. In each of these places, we will make stops of approximately 10 minutes to take photos, walk and appreciate the place. Finally, we will serve a coffee or tea on the last beach, where we will be approximately 30 minutes.

2: Parque Historico Punta Cuevas

Traveling towards the south of the city to the end of the Boulevard Alte. Brown, you can find the Punta Cuevas Area, a historical site and home of the first Welsh settlers in Chubut. The caves were the first dwelling in Puerto Madryn, which were dug by the settlers and one of the oldest in colonized Patagonia. The most ancient houses in Patagonia were built on this site. Today, an exhibition center stands and displays objects which would belong to the colonists to tell the history of the Indian and Welsh culture.

3: Monumento al Indio Tehuelche

A few meters from there, you will find the Tehuelche Indian Monument. This place offers a panoramic view of golf Nuevo, the city with its beaches and its piers. You will be able to appreciate a beautiful panoramic view of the city, the beaches and the industrial park.

The ancient buildings and the church are assembled around the General San Martín square. As you advance around the last roundabout and leave the Luis Piedrabuena pier behind, you will head to Yrigoyen Street. We will visit one of the largest Magellanic Penguin colonies in the world!

The first stop will be to visit the replica of the largest Dinosaur found in the world.

Later we will continue to Punta Tombo Protected Area. Upon arrival, and after paying the entrance fee, we will visit the Interpretation Center. From there we will drive to the entrance to the path where the Magellan Penguins are. This pedestrian route crosses an area with many nests and we can observe very well the beach that these birds use to look for food.

At the end of the tour we will have time for lunch (not included).

You will travel some kilometers to Florentino Ameghino Dam, a wonderful engineering masterpiece that provides electricity to the whole region. This is a recommended place due to its magic. You will take Route 3.

1: Florentino Ameghino Dam

Las Chapas is the next destination, you will enjoy an amazing colorful landscape: transparent rivers, green willows, among other things. The rocky walls boast an incredible reddish tone and the Chubut River runs between their huge heights for several kilometers. That is the reason why this site was chosen to construct the dam and give shape to an artificial lake that covers 7,000 hectares. It was named Florentino Ameghino to honor the famous naturalist and discoverer. The reservoir is 255 meters long and was designed by the engineer Antonio Pronsato back in 1943. It was not inaugurated until 1963.

The trails around the area are usually crossed by the most autochthonous wildlife seen in Patagonia today: guanacos with their offspring, choiques and Patagonian hares.

Make your way to the meeting point in downtown Puerto Madryn, the Mujer Galesa monument, located at Av. Julio Argentino Roca 300. Board the bus and travel about 47 miles (75km) through the Patagonian plains to the south end of the Gulf Nuevo, capped off by the Punta Ninfas lighthouse. The beach there is a resting place for elephant seals and a breeding rookery for sea lions.

Move on to El Pedral, an historic Patagonian ranch that is now a museum. Take a guided tour of the estancia and learn about its history; built in the early 20th century, all materials were shipped over from Europe. Your tour guide will detail the entrepreneurial atmosphere of those early days on the Valdes Peninsula.

Next, take a guided tour of the nesting ground of the Magellanic penguins. A protected Ecological Reserve, the beach at El Pedral hosts some 5,000 individuals.

Take a break for lunch of barbecue, lamb, empanadas, salads, and red wine. Following lunch, spend free time exploring the grounds, using the pool or visiting the farm. Wind up with a tea or coffee and a traditional Welsh cake before returning to Puerto Madryn for drop-off.

Well kick our trip off by picking you up from the meeting point in our comfortable tour bus. Well then travel around 75km through the Patagonian outback until we get to the southern end of the Gulf Nuevo - Punta Ninfas - and its pretty lighthouse.

3: Estancia El Pedral

Well then head on to El Pedral, an old, authentic Patagonian ranch which now serves as a local museum. Further on, well reach the Magallanes penguin colony, taking a guided tour through their nests to see how these curious little creatures live. In 2009, 14 initial pairs of Magallanes penguins made their home on the beaches of El Pedral, and after less than 10 years the colony is over 6,000 members strong.

During our exploring, the Asador (head of the barbeque) will be preparing some traditional Patagonian lamb for our lunch. This will be served along with homemade empanadas, a selection of salads, red wine, a fruit salad and plenty more.

After lunch, you can hop in the pool and enjoy the beauty of the area, sit in the shade or simply relax in the sun with a tea or coffee and typical torta galesa (Welsh cake).

About 35 miles away from Puerto Madryn, we arrive to El Desempeño, main access to Peninsula Valdes, and after another 30 miles we arrive to Puerto Piramides, where, from June to December is possible to get a boat and watch the Right Southern Whales, and the rest of the year therere nautical trips to watch Sea Lions and enjoy the landscape.
From Puerto Piramides we will head to Caleta Valdes, 47 miles away, and there youll enjoy the magnificent Elephant Seals and Penguins. WHAT TO EXPECT

1: Peninsula Valdes

Is not only Puerto Madryn that is the main touristic center at patagonic coast. Península Valdés also is. Early in the morning we'll alocate at Puerto Pirámides, located only one hour outside Puerto Madryn city. The route until the national park is full of beautiful and exuberant landscapes. Arriving to the national park we are going to do a ride through all the península extention.

We will get at Punta Delgada by noon, were we will enjoy a lunch (not included) at Complejo El Faro.

At El Faro you will have the opportunity to go among the cliffs and walk between seals and sea lions. (El Faro closes after Easter until 31 August).

When El Faro is closed, the lunch is at Pyramid Cove (without access to El Faro prívate beach).

As the trip goes on, we will go until Punta Canor to see te peninsula outside coast and arrive at Punta Cantor (also known as the Valdes entrance) Here we will see imponents geologic formations before coming back to Istmo Ameghino.

At Sunset we will arrive to Puerto Madryn.

WHAT TO EXPECT

1: Punta Tombo

You'll go to Punta Tombo, a geographical accident that Magellan's penguin uses as habitat (entrance fee not included).
It is located at 3 hours from Puerto Madryn, on the road you will have time to appreciate Patagonian lanscapes.
At this stop, you'll have the chance to watch penguins in their own habitat as they scurry and play on the rocks. There, you'll have time to observe how the penguins coexist on the coast with other species, such as Gulls, Skúas, Giant Petrels, Cormorants, Ostreros and Pato Vapor and, given the extension of the area, typical species of the steppe like Guanacos, Choiques, Maras and Grey Foxes. You'll spend approximately an hour and a half at this stop.

2: Puerto Rawson

Before going back to Puerto Madryn, you will make a stop at the Rawson's Port.
If you chose the Toninas watching navigation, you'll embark to observe the Overas Toninas. The Overa Toninas are recognized for their similarity to the dolphins. They are no longer than a meter and a half. Puerto Rawson is one of the few places in the world where they can be observed in their natural habitat. These daring species usually escort ships, playing and showing their skills to the visitors who have the possibility to watch the spectacle. The navigation lasts approximately an hour and a half.
The ones who didn't choose the navigation will have some free time to explore the port and why not enjoy a see food table (not included).

You will be back to Puerto Madryn around 5 pm.

The Punta Tombo Protected Area was created as such in 1979, has a total extension of 210 ha and can be visited from September to April. The coast is considered an intangible area and during the month of February we will find it populated with youngsters practicing swimming especially in the small pools that the tide leaves when retiring. Leaving Puerto Madryn, to the south, on National Route No. 3, and after traveling about 190 km on pavement and gravel, we will arrive at Punta Tombo, the largest continental reserve of Magellanic Penguins (Spheniscus magallanicus). This incredible place is home to tens of thousands of Magellanic penguins, which every year since September arrive to nest and have their young. To observe the fauna it is important to respect the paths perfectly traced to travel.

We will make a panoramic tour visiting the most outstanding sites of the city such as the ALUAR Aluminum Plant, the old Train Station (today Meisen Ebene Museum), San Martin Square and its Civic Center, the Pujol Chalet. Then we will continue our trip to the south, passing along the waterfront.

We will visit the first Protected Area created in the Province of Chubut. We will walk along low intensity trails to observe a colony of sea lions and a colony of cormorants that nest in the cliffs. In addition, to learn about the flora of the region, and be amazed with breathtaking views of the Golfo Nuevo.

On the way back we will stop at the Punta Cuevas Historic Site, where we will visit the caves where the first Welsh settlers spent the first nights after arriving in the area in 1865.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Our snorkeling with sea lions tour is an utterly unmissable part of any trip to Puerto Madryn.

This activity is only possible in three places in the world, however the proximity of the sea lions to the coast makes it particularly memorable in Puerto Madryn.
The sea lions bob around in the water as they wait for us to hop in, the whole experience making for an unforgettable trip.

The tour starts in Puerto Madryn where you will receive your equipment to snorkel. Once equipped, follow your guide and board a boat to reach the Punta Loma Provincial Reserve. We will be sailing past a collection of beaches, cliffs, shipwrecks and we may observe whales or dolphins regarding the season.

When we arrive at the reserve, our professional guide will explain us what were going to do: how to snorkel, our kit and its floatability, any important dos and donts within the reserve.

You will be able to move in the water to observe sea lions in their natural environment during approximately 50 minutes. A light wetsuit, mask and snorkel will be of use to watch these nice members of the Patagonian sea fauna.

Back to the boat, hot tea and snacks will be offered become going back the city.
