WHAT TO EXPECT

The Atlantis Submarine is an unforgettable way to get far below the surface and experience marine life in Barbados with no certifications required.

When you arrive at the docks at Shallow Draught, youll see the submarine surface before boarding the vessel. Take your seat in the air-conditioned submarine and get ready for your underwater adventure to begin.

First you will submerge to about 55 feet (17 meters) and admire colorful coral reefs and marine animals, like fish and turtles, through the large windows. Throughout the 40-minute ride, the co-pilot will share knowledge about the submarine, the reef and the creatures that inhabit it.

The submarine continues its descent all the way to about 150 feet (45 meters) to see a shipwreck, normally only accessed by scuba divers. You will be able to see this sunken treasure up-close, and observe the marine life that now inhabits the vessel. After taking in the wreck, you will resurface and be transferred back to Shallow Draught. Receive an Atlantis Submarines Dive certificate to commemorate your adventure.

This is first tour in the Caribbean to be awarded a double Green Certification from Green Globe International.

After securing the hatches and being seated in the air-conditioned comfort, the call is made to: Dive! Dive! Dive! WHAT TO EXPECT

After pickup (select hotels only) arrive at the docks in Bridgetown to board "El Tigre," a large schooner fit to carry 50 (but this tour is capped at 36 people for added comfort). Take a seat in a shaded area, or lie out in the sun as you pull away from the harbor and begin our journey down the west coast of Barbados.

Along the voyage, take in beautiful views of Barbados pristine coastline. Enjoy the warm ocean breeze as the catamaran glides on the water and sip on unlimited beverages like rum punch, beer, coffee, or juice.

The boat will make its way to the first snorkeling spot, where youre likely to see sea turtles and other marine life swimming among the coral reef. Next, board the ship and make your way to a shipwreck that has become a thriving habitat for tropical fish. Put on your snorkeling gear and jump in to view this lost treasure and the creatures that now call it home.

The catamaran then makes its way back to the docks in Bridgetown. From here, return to your hotel by car.

1: El Tigre Catamaran Sailing Cruises

After hotel pickup, head to the marina in Bridgetown to board your catamaran, El Tigre, a 60-foot-long (18-meter) and 24-foot-wide (7-meter) schooner thats big enough to carry 50 passengers but is limited to 36 per cruise to provide more space. The boat offers both shady and uncovered areas so you can choose to sit wherever youll be more comfortable.

Pull out of the marina and head along the west coast of Barbados, enjoying the sea breeze on your face and admiring the picturesque coastline. While you sail, just relax, sipping a cup of coffee or a glass of juice, rum punch or beer, and enjoy a slice of coconut bread.

2: Barbados

Make your way to your first snorkeling spot, where you should be able to see sea turtles. Spend 45 minutes snorkeling, and then hop back on board the boat to sail to your second snorkeling location, a shipwreck that has become a habitat for many tropical fish. You have another 45 minutes to snorkel here.

If you choose the 3-hour option, youll then be dropped off at a west coast beach, where your cruise ends. Your transportation will be waiting for you at this beach to return to your hotel.

If you select the 5-hour option, continue along the west coast to a third location, where youll stop to enjoy lunch onboard the boat. Then hop in the water to cool off, swimming up to the nearby beach, if you wish, for a stroll along the sand. Back on board, enjoy a cocktail and listen to soca a style of Caribbean calypso music while the boat returns you to the marina in Bridgetown, where your cruise ends.

We DO NOT collect from the Cruise Terminal. Transportation provided from hotels and air bnb's is a shuttle. The hotel pickup time will vary based on distance. Meander along the pathways and experience this transcendent gully eco-system of unique and delicate foliage, rock forms and streams all naturally created given Barbados' unique and delicate limestone construct. If you are lucky, you may be able to spot and snap a quick pic of a couple of the residents of the Welchman Hall Gully, the Green Monkey as they eat on a platform developed for them or as they frolic among themselves!
