Located from Cuiaba airport to Pousada do Rio Mutum - Pantanal Lodge there is a 130 km distance, of which 50 km in highways and 80 km of dust roads. The trip takes 02h30min to 03h00min during drought periods; during flood periods it can take longer, depending on the conditions of the roads. Since the road is trans-Pantanal, one can enjoy the beautiful landscape and the various species of birds and small animals during the trip.
Day 1 - Cuiabá/Pantanal – Pousada do Rio MutumReception upon arrival at the Cuiabá airport.Transfer to Pousada do Rio Mutum passing through the small village of Mimoso, where Mal. Candido Rondon was born. On the way, observation of many kinds of birds, small mammals, and typical landscapes. After check-in, introduction to the lodge and area around it. In the evening a delicious piranha soup is served just before dinner. After dinner, introduction to the activities of the following days. Overnight.
Day 2 - Pantanal – Pousada do Rio MutumAfter breakfast,horseback trail riding in the jungle, up to the edge of the Siá Mariana bay. During the whole year, a large variety of birds, animals, and reptiles can be observed. Return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, a boat trip down the Mutum river banks, Siá Mariana bay and Chacororé bay. Return by boat to the lodge, stopping to see the sunset at the Siá Mariana bay and do piranha fishing. In the evening, cayman feeding with the piranhas fished from Siá Mariana bay, and nocturnal animals spotting. Dinner and overnight.
Day 3 - Pousada do Rio Mutum/Cuiabá – Airport 4:30am – Canoeing in the Mutum riverto observe the sunrise and the beauty of wildlife at the break of dawn in the Pantanal. Return to the lodge, have breakfast, and check out. Transfer to the Cuiabá airport.
