Located from Cuiaba airport to Pousada do Rio Mutum - Pantanal Lodge there is a 130 km distance, of which 50 km in highways and 80 km of dust roads. The trip takes 02h30min to 03h00min during drought periods; during flood periods it can take longer, depending on the conditions of the roads. Since the road is trans-Pantanal, one can enjoy the beautiful landscape and the various species of birds and small animals during the trip.

In this ecological paradise the sound of the birds at dawn, the enchantment of the waters, the blue sky, the breathtaking sunset, horseback riding through the forests and wetlands, trails totally immersed in nature, flights of birds, Brazilian otters playing by the river, alligators enjoying the sun... will give you unique and unforgettable moments. There is a swimming pool with a bar, sports facilities and shops. The Pousada has been constructed according to international standards taking into account the demands of modern eco-tourism and the interests of sport fishing. You will find plenty to do. The Pousada do Rio Mutum is also highly recommended for those who enjoy fishing. The pintado catfish is a particularly prized catch, but anglers can also expect to hook dourado, paçu, or piraputanga. (The best months for fishing are between February and October; there is no fishing between November and January during spawning season.)

Day 1 - Cuiaba/Pantanal - Pousada do Rio Mutum. Reception upon arrival at the Cuiaba airport. Transfer to Pousada do Rio Mutum passing through the small village of Mimoso, where Mal. Candido Rondon was born. On the way, observation of many kind of birds, small mammals and typical landscapes. After check-in, introduction to the lodge and area around it. In the evening a delicious piranha soup is served just before dinner. After dinner, introduction to the activities of the following days.

Day 2 - Pantanal - Pousada do Rio Mutum. After breakfast, horseback trail riding in the jungle, up to the edge of the Sia Mariana bay. During the whole year, a big variety of birds, animals and reptiles can be observed. Return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, boat ride for a photographic safari in Mutum River. In its crystal clear water it is possible to see giant otters, stingrays and shoals of small fish. At the Mutum river banks, a large variety of birds can be observed. Return to the lodge for dinner, then nocturnal animal spotting by jeep in the lodge surrounding area.

Day 3 - Pantanal - Pousada do Rio Mutum. After breakfast, ecological walk through the jungle and open fields to observe animals and birds. Having the largest diversity of bird species in the world, the Pantanal is specially interesting for bird watching. Return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, boat trip down the Mutum river banks, Sia Mariana bay and Chacorore bay. Return by boat to the lodge, stopping to see the sunset at the Sia Mariana bay and do piranha fishing. In the evening, cayman feeding with the piranhas fished from Siá Mariana bay and nocturnal animals spotting. Dinner.

4th Day - Pantanal/Cuiaba airport
4:30am - Canoeing in the Mutum river to observe the sunrise and the beauty of wildlife at the break of dawn in the Pantanal. Return to the lodge, breakfast and check-out. Transfer to the Cuiaba airport.
