Getting to the Meeting Location from Banff, if I dont have a vehicle:
Banff has an excellent public bus service (not slower than driving yourself) and the public roam transit line 3: will take you directly from Banff (town centre) to the legacy trail bus stop in Canmore (first stop in Canmore) where you can arrange for us to come pick you up, usually 20min prior to your trip start time.WHAT TO EXPECTAfter meeting your guides and other participants of the group (either at the staging area in the Heart Creek Trail parking lot or after being picked up from your hotel), it is an approximate 1.5 hour drive by van to the starting location of the canyon a 30-45 min hike will bring you to the top of the canyon adventure. Everyone suits up, and in order to ensure safety your guides will go thru a mandatory rappel and rope safety clinic with all participants. There are a total of 4 rappels, interspersed with some scrambling, hiking, as well as several slides and easy but fun pool jumps. Once at the Lower Falls, guests will have the option to return to the warm comfort of the tour van or to continue to the Upper Falls (an additional 30 mins/1.3km/0.8 miles/70m elevation gain) to be amazed by the biggest & most awe-inspiring frozen waterfalls in the canyon and encourage the daredevil ice climbers scaling their way up the frozen canyon walls.
