'The Garden that Love Built': The world famous Abkhazi Garden is an exquisite heritage home and garden located just outside downtown Victoria. This tour combines the best of both worlds: An overview of the magnificent city of Victoria and a visit to the world-famous Butchart Gardens.

Your tour will take between 3.5-4 Hours and begins with a stunning drive along the scenic route to Butchard gardens, on the way we will show you the Lieutenant Governor's Mansion, Criagdarrow Castle and the best views on the Island on top of Mount Tolmie.

Then we are off to

Butchart Gardens what is one of the world's premier floral show gardens. Jennie Butchart began to shape this magnificent 55-acre landscape in 1904 from her husband Robert's abandoned limestone quarry. The result was the dramatic Sunken Garden, a reflection of the early 20th century beautification movement and an exceptional achievement in Canadian gardening history. As a reflection of their world travels, the Butcharts also created a Japanese Garden, an Italian Garden, and a Rose Garden. Through successive generations of the Butchart family, The Gardens has retained much of its original design and continues the Victorian tradition of seasonally changing the outstanding floral displays.

After the visit to the gardens we are commencing our tour of Victoria, a place where the laid-back modernism of the West Coast blends with time-honored British, European, and Asian traditions.Where you will be exploring Chinatown, Government house, Empress Hotel, Inner Harbour and the Old town Bastion Square we will finish off with a look at Fisherman's Wharf.

This Victoria and the Butchart Gardens tour starts with a hotel pickup from your hotel in Downtown Victoria. This tour is offered at three times, including 4 p.m., 5 p.m., and 6p.m.

Once you arrive at Butchart Gardens, your guide takes you around to explore the festive holiday-light displays. Walk through the theme of the 12 Days of Christmas set up at the gardens, and enjoy the sounds of carolers singing some of your favorite tunes of the season. If youd like you can also rent skates, and ice skate on the rink (own expense).

Designated a National Historic Site due to its international acclaim, the gardens offer vibrant displays of verdant plant life and scenic pathways, allowing visitors incredible opportunities to explore graceful fountains, recreated Japanese temples, and renaissance-inspired displays.

This 3-hour tour starts with a pickup from any Victoria-based hotel or lodging. After meeting the driver and tour host, travel through 30 minutes of strikingly lush, natural scenery en route to the gardens. The guide will intersperse bad jokes and personal anecdotes with a careful narration of the history and details of the Saanich Peninsula. He/she will provide the necessary context to truly understand the Butchart Gardens, helping travelers appreciate the unique qualities that make the displays a national treasure. 'The Garden that Love Built': The world famous Abkhazi Garden is an exquisite heritage home and garden located just outside downtown Victoria. They immediately began to develop their one-acre property, and continued to maintain and improve the garden throughout their lives together.
