Bordering the coast, towards the ruins of the Vaihu temple next to the attractive fishing bay of Hanga Te'é, it holds 8 moai, Continuing to the archaeological center of Akahanga, with several face-down moais, abandoned during their transfer. You will find remains of "Hare Paenga", known as boat houses, with their unmistakable foundation stones and decorative terraces. The central platform once held 12 moai and over time was widened from left to right. It is well worth looking at the part of the platform that faces the sea, stop to observe the small moai, whose size and shape suggests that it is a very early sculpture. Behind the platform are several crematoria. Do not go beyond the posters, the ground is very treacherous. Then the Rano Raraku volcano, one of the highlights of your visit to Easter Island, we will walk about ten minutes along a path that leads directly to the crater of this magnificent volcano. You will see about 70 moai standing (half buried) on the upper slopes. It is absolutely forbidden to walk off the trails and climb to the highest point, which can also be extremely dangerous. Continuing towards the recently restored Ahu Tongariki, with the largest group of moai. The first impression one has of the Ahu Tongariki cannot be described. At 220 meters from one end to the other, it is the largest ceremonial structure in all of Polynesia.
We will continue towards Ahu Te Pito Kura where you will be able to appreciate an intact platform with its moai in the position that was left when they demolished it approximately 200 years ago. This giant is the largest moai ever to be transported from Rano Raraku and erected on a platform. It measures 10 meters and weighs 70 tons approx.
Finally, Anakena beach, which has become an idyllic beach in the South Pacific, which has it all, including palm trees imported from Tahiti.
Picnic tables and shade make it the perfect place to take a break on the island tour. Anakena has 3 original platforms, the first one that is just to your left when you go down to the beach, it is practically not distinguished if it is not from behind. Anakena's jewel is its Ahu Nau Nau, which stands in all its majesty on the sand. Under this platform was found the white coral eye that is exhibited in the museum.
Here you can have lunch and have the option to take a bath or explore the magnificent surrounding landscape.
