OVERVIEW

The Base las Torres trek begins by zigzagging through the Asencio Valley (around 90 minutes). Our efforts will be rewarded with a pristine view of Lake Nordenjköld. Afterwards we will walk under the former glaciers of a snow covered mountain, Monte Almirante Nieto, reaching a height of 2670 m above sea level.

The guide will make sure to take breaks. The path eventually slopes down, but can go up and down as much as 200 feet because it winds around the mountain along with the rushing river below. After a couple of hours of trekking we will enjoy a well-deserved rest at the Chilean refuge.

It is recommended to buy the entrance to Torres del Paine Park before leaving for the tour.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Pick up in the morning between 06:00 AM approximately, at your accommodation.
Later, we head towards the Torres del Paine National Park, and after 2 hours of travel, we will arrive at the starting point of our walk.

After a previous talk by our guide, we will start walking along the path towards an old bridge that crosses the Asencio River. After 1 hour of walking, we will arrive at Camping El Chileno, in the shade of a spectacular lenga forest, crossing several slopes that fall from Mount Almirante Nieto.

After a brief stop, we will continue our way to the next viewpoint, at an altitude of 700 m. From here, the trail increases its slope, half an hour later, we will reach Base Las Torres at the eastern end of the lagoon, from where we will have a spectacular view of the three towers and the Peineta and Nido de Cóndores hills. With this view, we will have time to rest and have our box lunch. Later, we will return along the same path until we reach the starting point, from where we will take the vehicle that will take us back to Puerto Natales.

WHAT TO EXPECT

1: Serrano Glacier

This boat excursion leaves in the morning from the pier at Puerto Natales and takes us to two glaciers, called Balmaceda and Serrano. These are part of the Bernardo O'Higgins National Park and they are accesible only by boat. This park han an area of 4,300,00 hectares (16,600 square miles), which makes it the largest in Chile and one of the four largest parks in the world. It includes the Southern Patagonian Ice Field, the largest mass of ice on the American Continent.

Our trip to and from the end of Last Hope Sounds lasts for eight hours and includes an excellent view of the old freezer plant at Puerto Bories, several small ranches, ice-fields and waterfalls, a colony of cormorants whose common name is Imperial Shag as well as a sea lion rockery. From the boat we will also be able to see the local flora, which includes forests of trees with local names such as coigue, canelo, ñirre, and lenga. After three hours of travel we expect to reach the Balmaceda glacier, which is located on the east side of the mountain bearing the same name. At the end of the fjord the boat will dock to allow passengers to take a half-hour walk along a lake to the viewing point fot the Serrano glacier. Later in the afternoon we will return to Puerto Natales by the same route.

WHAT TO EXPECT

After pickup you will go on a scenic drive to Torres del Paine National Park. Upon arrival, stop for entrance fee payment and using restrooms facilities.
At Cerro Paine Reserve you´ll receive an informative talk from our guide and start the walking.
You´ll take the road to the Valley and walk on an old suspension bridge that crosses the Ascencio River. After a 2-hour hike, the Chileno Campsite is reached in the shade of a lenga forest. Stop for rest.

After an hour from the campsite you´ll reach the foot of the morraine that grants you access to the viewpoint, and the path increases its slope.
First, it goes next to the watershade and under the shadow of small trees, but higher up, the path is lost and must continue ascending among the rocks. Finally, at 700m.a.s.l., you´ll reach the eastern end of the lagoon where you´ll enjoy a wonderful view of the three towers: Central, Monzino & D'Agostini, and Peineta and Nido de Cóndores hills. After resting and having lunch with extraordinary views, you´ll begin the return along the same path to the starting point.

The driver will be waiting for you to take you back to your hotel. You will arrive at Puerto Natales around 9.00 p.m.

Departure from Puerto Natales direct to the Las Torres sector where we will arrive at "Reserva Cerro Paine, starting point of the trail. There we will receive a prior instructive talk by our guide. We take the road in the direction of the Valley and after 10 minutes of walking, we will walk on an old bridge pendant that crosses the Ascencio river. About 150 meters ahead, a fork appears: on the left leads to Las Torres Base. Then, ascent continues and after you reach Camping Chileno on the opposite bank of the Ascencio River, to the shade of a lenga forest, with a moderate slope, crossing several slopes that fall from the Almirante Grandson. After about an hour from the Chilean campsite, at 700 (masl), the foot of the moraine is reached, which gives access to the viewpoint. From this point, the trail increases its slope. First it goes along a slope and under the shade of the small trees located on the edge of the moraine, but more at the top, the path is lost as such and you must continue ascending between the rocks. After about half an hour from the sign, the eastern end of the lagoon, from where you have a marvelous view of the three towers (Central, monzino, Dagostini).

Our excursion begins by leaving early in the morning from Puerto Natales towards the north bordering the Ceno Ultima Esperanza.

1: Mylodon Cave Natural Monument

We will begin our experience by delving into the depths of history in the Cueva del Milodón, a cavern notable for its colossal dimensions and its archaeological importance. The Torres del Paine Base Trekking could be divided into several stages, of different difficulty:
- Hotel Las Torres-Campamento El Chileno: medium difficulty (ups and downs of different intensity) approximately 2h for a person in physical form
- Chilean Camp - Lengas Forest: low difficulty (path that runs between a forest of lengas, with few climbs) 1: 15h approximately for a person in physical form
- Lengas Forest - Camping Las Torres: medium-high difficulty (in the last section begins the ascent itself, in which there is only a kind of stairs / rocks that must be climbed) approximately 30 minutes for one person in half fitness
- Camping Las Torres - Arrival Torres del Paine Base: high difficulty (this is the most demanding section, where you have to climb continuously, for 1 kilometer between rocks) In general terms they say it takes about an hour. We take a little more than 1 hour and a half, ascending calmly.
Total ascent route Trekking Base Torres del Paine: 5 hours 45 minutes from Hotel Las Torres to the Base of Torres del Paine.
The way back from the Trekking Base Torres del Paine is exactly the same as the one way and although it seems to be easier, you have to be very careful, especially in the descents, since they are made through rocks and it is very easy suffer sprains or falls. It took us 3 hours 15 minutes to return to Hotel Las Torres.

Our chauffeur and guide will pass each passenger to their hotels or hostels located within the urban radius of Puerto Natales.
It will be coordinated 24 hours in advance, the collection of each of them.

WHAT TO EXPECT

1: Torres del Paine

Once all the passengers in the van (maximum 6), we head towards the welcome center of Torres del Paine National Park, where we will equip ourselves and our guide will give us a brief induction of what will be our trekking.
During the walk there are two camps where brief stops will be made for use of toilet, eating something I have hydrated.
When you arrive at Base Torres we will be between 45 minutes to 1 hour, so you can take all the photographs you want and replenish energy to return by the same path that we made the ascent.
Our van will be waiting at the same point, where they started the trekking, to bring them back to their place of accommodation in the urban radius of Puerto Natales.

Transfer time is 3 hours in total, 90 minutes for each way

Torres del Paine (Pass by)

The excursion begins by leaving the Las Torres hotel, at the foot of Mount Almirante Nieto. We will take a path to a suspension bridge that crosses the Ascencio River, which circulates the entire way. There a demanding ascent begins to the first peak where there is a view of lakes and valleys, after an hour of trekking upwards we will enter the valley itself to reach the Chilean refuge, where we will make a restoring stop. The first part consists of a young forest that has grown after a forest fire and then we will continue through a centennial lenga forest. Once we go through the forest we will arrive at Torres camp. Passing through a moraine left by the receding glacier in the valley, we will ascend to the Torres viewpoint, with an exceptional view of these granite towers that rise 2,800 m above a turquoise lagoon. We will enjoy this exceptional panoramic view and then begin our descent along the same route.

WHAT TO EXPECT

We'll pick you up very early at your hotel and then head to Torres del Paine National Park. After a two-hour hike, we'll enter through the Laguna Amarga gate for registration and then transfer to the trailhead. We'll provide safety instructions and begin our hike. After an hour and a half of moderate intensity, we'll stop briefly at Refugio Chileno. We'll continue for another two hours of easy hiking and reach the scree (a glacial moraine). Here, we climb a steep slope for an hour and reach the edge of the lagoon, where we can admire the famous towers. The hike is along a mountain trail through Magellanic forest. The view is spectacular, depending on weather conditions.

We'll take a break of just over half an hour for photographs and a small snack (not included), and then return along the same trail to the visitor center, where our vehicle is waiting. Upon returning to Puerto Natales, we will drop you off at your accommodation, arriving at approximately 8:00 PM.

We begin our trek to the Base of the Towers at 7:15 am, when the minibus picks up passengers at their respective lodgings in Puerto Natales, starting the trip to Torres del Paine National Park.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Within the trip, we will make temporary stops to see the landscape, this varies according to the number of travelers who will make the route to Base Las Torres. The mandatory stop is at the Portería de Laguna Amarga, where we can see the wonderful view of the well-known Torres del Paine, next to this view we can appreciate the beautiful Laguna Amarga.

We continue the trip approximately 10 more minutes to reach the beginning of the walk in the Las Torres Hotel sector. The Trekking to the Mirador de las Torres lasts approximately 4 hours. On the way we will pass through the Chilean Refuge and then to an intermediate point between the Las Torres Refuge.

At this point the final stretch begins that lasts approximately 40 minutes, until we reach the famous Torres Base where we can observe the famous Torres lake and glacier, Mount Almirante Nieto, Cordon Oggioni, the characteristic biodiversity of the area, and above all , the magnificent granite towers.

After staying a prudent time in this place, we undertake the return by the same path until arriving at the sector of Hostería Las Torres, where the minibus will take them again to Puerto Natales.

The tour starts with pick-up at your accommodations and depending on your location, well be arriving to get you between 6:30 and 7:00 AM. After the group is assembled, our guide will give us trekking poles and brief us about the tour, especially covering the trek to Base Torres. Well then head to Torres del Paine National Park.
In the winter season, groups are small, with one guide for every 4 travelers.
In the summer season, groups can have up to 21 people, with one guide for every 6 travelers to adapt to different walking paces. This way, all participants are always accompanied.

2: Torres Del Paine National Park

After the two-hour ride in the shuttle bus, well arrive at the entrance of the National Park via the Porteria Amarga Sector. From the moment we enter the park, we'll be enjoying the impressive views of Torres del Paine.

3: Mirador Las Torres Base

At this point, youll begin the trek to the Hostería Las Torres Sector. On the journey of about four hours, well cross the Ascensio Valley and walk through the cozy Lenga Forest. Well also see the Almirante Nieto Hill from several perspectives while we make our way. At the end of this section, well climb a glacier moraine (rocky path with a steep slope), until reaching our destination, the Base Torres Viewpoint.

4: Puerto Natales

With these incredible views, well eat lunch, take pictures, and make the descent to the small beach formed by the lake. Touch its waters and marvel at the stunning views from the beach. After this stop, the whole group will meet and begin the descent, this portion is about three hours. The shuttle bus will then return us to Puerto Natales. Between 8:00 and 9:00 PM, the bus will arrive at our lodgings and end this day full of hiking, excitement, and memories at the Base of Torres del Paine.

OVERVIEW

Join this small group guided trip which will get you trekking and fly fishing in Torres del Paine. You'll take a zodiac boat along the Serano River for about a half hour, then walk about a half hour near a waterfall to the lake where we'll fly fish for rainbow and brown trout and salmon. Enjoy a picnic lunch on the lake, and trek and boat back out the way you came in.

WHAT TO EXPECT

We combined our fishing experience with a nice and breathtaking navigation in our zodiac-boat reaching isolated and pristine spot surrenders by glaciers and mountains, either inside and outside of the National Park to fish Brown, Rainbow wild Trouts as well as Salmon.

We start the excursion by sailing down the river in our zodiac-boat along the Serrano River (30 minutes approx.) As soon as we arrive to a waterfall, we will descend and walk for another 30 minutes, until we reach a lagoon with the Paine massif in the background and where it is possible to fish brown and rainbow trout. After having fished for at least 3 hours in this pristine and beautiful place, we will start to return around at 1:00 PM to start our trip back to the hotel, by the same route where we came.
