This a metropolis of intense economic activity, and it is the third largest free trade zone in the world, after Miami (United States) and Hong Kong (China), where you can find products from renowned brands of electronics, perfumery and quite possibly the best wine cellar in South America, with the best wines from all continents, mainly from incredible French vintages. Near Ciudad del Este is a major tourist site; the massive Itaipu Dam, known as 'the stone that sings' in the Guarani language. Located on the Parana River and only six miles from the city center you can also admire the Saltos del Monday, with three mighty waterfalls that are each 130 feet high. Also nearby are the world famous Falls of Iguazu, a regional hotspot that welcomes about 4 million visitors per year!!
