Near Ciudad del Este is a major tourist site; the massive Itaipu Dam, ``the stone that sings`` in the Guarani language, located on the Parana River and only 6 miles from the center you can admire the Saltos del Monday, with three mighty waterfalls 130 feet high each. Also nearby are the world famous Falls of Iguazu, regional hotspot that welcomes about 4 million visitors per year!!
