Start at the capital city, Asuncion (bordered by the Paraguay River, with abundant greenery throughout its streets and gardens, successfully combines the beauty of its colonial-style buildings with its modern infrastructure); after that, travel to Ciudad del Este (known for its intensely busy commercial life, with shops and malls and where its main attraction for visitors is shopping. This most eastern and second largest city of Paraguay is one of the access points to a great natural wonder of the world, the Iguazu Falls, a few miles away in the neighboring cities of Foz do Iguacu-Brazil and Puerto Iguazu-Argentina). Continue this trip in Encarnacion (located at the south of the capital city, on the bank of Parana River. It is distinguished for its carnival and waterfront boulevard as well as for its beaches; and for its preserved Jesuit Ruins, declared as World Heritage Sites). Lastly, get back to Asuncion, to finish enjoying what the city has to offer. These destinations are connected by transfers. This is a flexible vacation package. Ciudad del Este
Ciudad del Este is strategically set opposite the Brazilian city of Foz de Iguazu, joined to it by the Friendship Bridge, and in front of the city of Puerto Iguazu in Argentina, for which the area is called the 'Triple Frontier.' This a metropolis of intense economic activity, and it is the third largest free trade zone in the world, after Miami (United States) and Hong Kong (China). Near Ciudad del Este is a major tourist site; the massive Itaipu Dam, known as 'the stone that sings' in the Guarani language. Located on the Parana River and only six miles from the city center you can also admire the Saltos del Monday, with three mighty waterfalls that are each 130 feet high. Also nearby are the world famous Falls of Iguazu, a regional hotspot that welcomes about 4 million visitors per year!!
