Now, the Tortuguero National Park, the STC and the turistic industry, are working with a new system; instead of having all the visitors walking down the beach, professional spotters search for the nesting females, once they find one, they radio the position to the guides, and the guides take the visitors directly where she is nesting, using a trail behind the beach. 1: Tortuguero National Park

You will be allowed to observe 4 of the 7 processes that the turtle performs while nesting on the beach.

These 4 processes are:

1-The laying of eggs.
2- Compaction of the eggs.
3- Camouflage of the nest.
4- Return of the turtle to the sea.
of course we can not promisse you will see all of the process, since it depends on the turtle and she feels.

To OBSERVER a sea turtle nesting she must be relaxed and had arrived about 1 hour earlier, that is the time it takes to a turtle to start the laying of the eggs and that is the ideal time to reach near her and enjoy this unique event.

Once the observation of 1 or up to the 4 processes get finished, we must leave the beach and return to hotel.

WHAT TO EXPECT

1: Tortuguero National Park

1. We depends on park decision for the tour time which can be from 8pm to 10pm or 10pm to 12pm, at around 5:30pm we can confirm the time of the activity.

3. We move to the sectors walking,

The tour have a maximum duration of 2 hours, it means that we have two hours to try to see the turtle and is very important to be clear about this point because we have two important things to be clear at this moment. the first one is that this is natural process and consequently unpredictable so we CANNOT WARRANTY at all you will see the animal or the processes but you can be sure we will try very hard to make it happen and the second thing is that's if we found the turtle early in the tour and we have the chance to see all the processes in less time we need to leave immediately to not disturb other turtles.
