This is "not one usual food tour", because my main goal is to allow visitors to immerse themselves in Quito´s life and it's local gastronomy. I find the best foodie spots in an awesome, Anthony Bourdain´s style walking tour.
In our capital city of Quito, a Hueca stands for a boutique, frequently family-run eatery, which offers quality dishes and beverages, often with the unique twist of a secret family style. Its a very vibrant part of Quito's culinary stage. Im extending my heartfelt invitation for you to join us and sincerely hope you will find these special places to be irresistible. They offer a rich history and have fascinating stories to share.

The last eruption happened around 1280 and was one of the largest volcanic eruptions in the past 1000 years. However geological excavations of the site suggest that the canyon itself is around 1800 years old, meaning that it was formed by a previous eruption. The flow of lava from Quilotoa was responsible for generating the undeniably spectacular canyon, which is home to wildlife, forests and a river. The canyon runs from the Quilotoa volcano and eventually fades into the landscape.20 minutes -Admission Ticket Included3: Laguna QuilotoaQuilotoa is a water-filled crater lake and the most western volcano in the Ecuadorian Andes. The 3-kilometre (2 mi)-wide caldera was formed by the collapse of this dacite volcano following a catastrophic VEI-6 eruption about 800 years ago, which produced pyroclastic flows and lahars that reached the Pacific Ocean, and spread an airborne deposit of volcanic ash throughout the northern Andes. The caldera has since accumulated a 250-metre-deep (820 ft) crater lake, which has a greenish color as a result of dissolved minerals. Fumaroles are found on the lake floor and hot springs occur on the eastern flank of the volcano.4 hours -Admission Ticket IncludedADDITIONAL INFOService animals allowedTravelers should have at least a moderate level of physical fitnessMinimum age is 18 yearsNot wheelchair accessibleThis tour/activity will have a maximum of 6 travelersCANCELLATION POLICYFor a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.(For information purpose only - definite start times will show on voucher, once confirmed) -
