WHAT TO EXPECT

Following convenient pickup at your Negril hotel, climb on board a comfortable tour vehicle and set off for a drive along the scenic southern coast of Jamaica. Your destination is the Nassau Valley in St Elizabeth parish, the location of the historic Appleton Estate.

Once you arrive at the distillery, dating from 1749, embark on a tour of the facility and grounds. Get a peek inside the aging house, where rum is stored in oak barrels for up to 30 years. Your guide will tell you about the distillery's prestigious history as one of the island's first rum producers and discover some of Appleton's secret ingredients.

Sit down for a rum tasting, accompanied by a local treat: fresh-pressed cane juice. Take the opportunity to purchase some souvenir bottles to take home (some labels are only available domestically in Jamaica).

On arrival, after a brief introductory and safety session, your 45-minute guided tour will begin. Visit the distillery to see Appleton's copper pot stills, which give the rum a distinctive flavor, and take a look inside the ageing house, where the rum sits in oak barrels, some for up to 30 years. Learn about the prestigious history of Appleton Estate, one of the oldest distilleries in Jamaica, and hear about its fermentation process, during which sugar cane molasses and a special yeast culture combine with water that has been filtered naturally by limestone to create Appletons much-loved flavour.

Situated on the South coast of Jamaica in the Parish of St Elizabeth, the Black River Safari is significant to the overall balance of the countrys eco-system. A tour on this nature lovers paradise will take you three miles up the river and back. The natural beauty of the milieu will mystify the mind like never before. The over 100 species of beautifully plumed birds that made the Black River Safari home will always seems to bring ones mind closer to how great creation is. However, perhaps the most famous residence of the Black River Safari are the endangered crocodiles.

2: YS Falls

The YS Falls are 120 foot tall and cascade over seven levels. Steps have been built up the side of the falls so visitors can view the falls without getting wet. If you'd prefer a more interactive experience there are natural pools at the bottom of each level of the falls, lifeguards on the site will let you know which pools are safe to swim in. One pool features a rope swing where you can swing "tarzan-style" in to the water below. For a more relaxing swim there is also a 4 foot deep pool at the bottom of the falls which is fed by natural springs.

NEGRIL: We pickup at the START TIME of the tour (9am or 3pm at your location). Kindly allow a few minutes for Jamaican time! Pickup is free anywhere around Negril - beach road, resorts, westend, town, or surrounding area. Specify your pickup location, or select one of the Meeting Points we have defined.

SHORE EXCURSION FROM MOBAY: Pickup time is 30 MINUTES after your ship docks - enough time for you to prepare & disembark. We will wait for you if you are delayed. Your ATV adventure begins with pickup at select Negril hotels. Upon arrival you will be greeted at the clubhouse which hosts a restaurant, gift shop and bar. After signing your waiver you will be escorted to the ATV garages. Get outfitted with helmets and goggles to help protect you; it will be an exciting ride through the elements. Hop on for some practice laps around the training area, youll get the hang of piloting the vehicle before heading out. No experience is necessary; ATVs are safe and easy to drive. Hit the trail, headed for the fishing village in Salmon Point. Follow your guide through sandy washes, over rocky hills and through strands of hardy mangroves.

Get outfitted with helmets and goggles to help protect you from the elements; it will be an exciting ride through the elements. After you have been picked up from your hotel travel to our 300 acre ranch style property. You will be greeted at our state of the art clubhouse that hosts a restaurant, bar and gift shop. You will meet your guides and get fully equipped with a harness, helmet and gloves, followed by a brief introductive course on our training zip line. A short de briefing on all aspects of the challenges to be expected, hand signals and gestures used by the tour guides. Climb a 60 feet (18 meters) tower then zoom off along 2450 of zip line, high above the ground. Marvel at views of the Caribbean Sea and the surrounding mountains as you fly above the forest canopy. When you reach the end of the line, rappel slowly to the ground, where a waiting safari jeep will take you back to the clubhouse. Take a moment to catch your breath prior to moving on to your next adventure.
