We pickup from most Runaway Bay hotels. Travelers are required to contact us at least 24-hrs prior to the day of the tour to reconfirm your booking and arrange a central pickup point.

WHAT TO EXPECT

We will pick you up at the port. As soon as you are seated in one of our cool air-conditioned vehicle, we set off eastwards so relax and enjoy the breathtaking coastline for the next 45 minutes while we make our way to Ocho Rios, don't forget to take lots of photos. Our tour guides are very, informative, and are ready speak to you on Jamaica's rich history so feel free to engage them on your trip.
All our vehicles are in the non-smoking category. Your tour guide will take you directly to the Blue Hole. Your total time at the Blue Hole and Secret falls will be approx. 1 hour 45 minutes. There is a 30 minutes at the Blue Hole before your resident guide take you on a 5 minutes hike through the woods to the Secret Falls (1 hour 15 minutes). We care deeply about our visiting friends so please, indicate to your tour guide if you wish to use a life jacket and one will be provided for you.
After your Blue Hole and Secret Falls experience, your tour guide will take you on a shopping spree and lunch at one of our popular jerk restaurant where you can experience the local flavors of Jamaica.
After you have completed lunch and shopping it will be time to take you back to your pickup point.

This tour takes you through one of the most popular towns on the Island. Runaway Bay is naturally beautiful and is certainly one of the most scenic areas in Jamaica. It sits between the beautiful, crisp coastline to one side and the lush green mountains to the other. There is much debate as to how the town of Runaway Bay got its name. some people believe it got the name because that is where the last batch of Spanish soldiers ran away from when they were retreating from the attacking British Troops lead by Governor Ysassi right after the 1655 British invasion of Jamaica, while other argue that it was the point from which the Slaves from inland plantations used as an escape route to runaway to Cuba. Get your cameras ready to go as you make your way through this area.

1: Nine Miles

Bob Marley was born on February 6th, 1945. He died on May 11th, 1981. Visiting this small town is a priority for all tourists, cruise ship and stopover passengers alike from Ocho Rios, Falmouth, Montego Bay and from as far as Negril in the west. Nine Miles is a tiny village in hills of St. Ann where the reggae legend, Bob Marley was born, and fittingly, the place hes now laid to rest.

Although Bob Marley moved to Kingston at age 13 to live with his mother and to advance his music career, he would often return to Nine Miles to get away from the fast pace life of Kingston. Home is where the heart is and Bob Marley wrote several of his hit songs when he was in St. Ann.

Nine Miles Jamaica was always his home and to have the full experience of Bob Marley; you will have to visit this town. A tour of this settlement will leave you with a greater understanding of the legend Bob became; in fact, the community today is pretty much how it was in Bob Marleys early days. A Rastafarian tour guide will be on hand to guide you around the property and answer all your questions.

Still present, is his first home and the very bed he slept in as a young child also as an adult when he would return on his many cooling out visits. The rock that he used as a pillow, on which he would relax. Quite a few guests have said that they have felt the presence of Bob Marley.

The Nine Mile Tour includes his birth and resting place, what he liked to do and Mount Zion, the spot where he drew his inspiration from to write his songs. By now, you should be wearing your swimsuits so all you have to do is to get checked-in, meet with your resident guide, go through the briefing, sign the waiver form and get on with the fun at hand. There are professional photographers stationed at Dunns River that will accompany you on the trip you can purchase your pictures at the end if you like but, feel free to take your waterproof cameras with you and your Falls Guide will assist you by taking pictures. Your walk to the starting point will be about 2 minutes down to the beach where you will start the 600ft. (183metre) climb. Your total time at Dunns River Falls will be approx. 1 hour 45 minutes. The heartbeat of the garden parish of St. Ann, the resort area of Ocho Rios is the nature lovers paradise. As previously thought to be watered by eight rivers (as its name suggests) Ocho Rios provides a lush landscape of caves, gardens, rivers and white sand beaches. The name Ocho Rios actually derives from Las Choreras meaning waterfalls and may be a reflection of the many waterfalls in the area. From the Fern Gully located in the remains of an old river bed to the tiered waterfalls of Dunns River, Blue Hole and the Secret Falls, arguably, Jamaicas most popular attractions, Ocho Rios draws thousands of visitors back to arguably the islands most romantic, picturesque resort area.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Be ready for adventure in the lobby of your Runaway Bay hotel. Climb into a private vehicle with your party and travel to the Rio Bueno River, traveling along the scenic north coast.

Once you arrive, get an orientation from the staff and get fitted for safety gear, then head over the Irie Bridge and along the jungle trail to the launch point for your water activities.

Choose two from the following four activities:

White River Boarding (minimum age 12 years; maximum weight 280lbs) Surf down Class II rapids, steering with your arms and legs on a board similar to a boogie board. Stop on the beach for a break and a turn on the rope swing.

River Kayaking (minimum age 12; maximum weight 400lbs per kayak) With a partner, paddle downstream through class II rapids and through scenic natural pools. Pass under a stone bridge where the river flows into the Caribbean Sea.

River Rafting (minimum age 5 years; maximum weight 280lbs) Along with a group of 4 to 6 passengers, navigate through class I and class II rapids, with your guide steering the whole time. Stop to swim and try out the rope swing.

River Tubing (minimum age 8 years; maximum weight 260 pounds) The relaxing currents carry you through the rainforest; you can sit back and relax while admiring the scenery. Shoot a few rapids (class II) and stop at a beach to swim and take a turn on the rope swing.

When you've finished up your water activities, take a boat ride into the Caribbean Sea, to Bengal Beach for lunch (own expense) and some beach time. Conclude your time at the beach and then head back to Runaway Bay to your hotel for drop-off.

Runaway Bay (Pass by)

This tour takes you through one of the most popular towns on the Island. Runaway Bay is naturally beautiful and is certainly one of the most scenic areas in Jamaica. It sits between the beautiful, crisp coastline to one side and the lush green mountains to the other. There is much debate as to how the town of Runaway Bay got its name. some people believe it got the name because that is where the last batch of Spanish soldiers ran away from when they were retreating from the attacking British Troops lead by Governor Ysassi right after the 1655 British invasion of Jamaica, while other argue that it was the point from which the Slaves from inland plantations used as an escape route to runaway to Cuba. Get your cameras ready to go as you make your way through this area.

1: Columbus Park

The town of Discovery Bay is where you will find Columbus Park. It was originally named Puerto Seco Dry Harbour by Christopher Columbus in 1494 when he and his men landed on the Island. It is said that could not find fresh water to drink. They later found fresh water in another area about 5 miles west of the town. The water was so good that they named the location where it was found Rio Bueno (Good River). However, the town of Puerto Seco was later renamed in 1947 to Discovery Bay because Discovery Bay is where the Spanish, lead by Christopher Columbus landed when they invaded the Island on May 4, 1494. There is a park with several old relics and artifacts on display. There will be a brief stop to take photos and capture the rich history of this historic town.
