The accommodations are surrounded by nature. They all have a private bathroom and mosquito nets, and some have hammocks. The rates include breakfast, lunch and dinner. All rooms have electricity 3 times a day.

Jungle night walk
Duration: 1 hour
Our Jungle Night Walk gives you the once in a lifetime chance to see the nocturnal wonders of the Amazon Rainforest. You will enter a world inhabited by the most unique, diverse, and shy night creatures, from Night Monkeys to Poison Dart Frogs, Tarantulas to Stick Bugs, you never know what miraculous creature you will find.
Canopy Tower
Duration: 2 hours
The 35-meter Canopy Tower at Refugio Amazonas is nestled within the Tambopata National Reserve. From here, you can appreciate the lush greenery and observe a variety of treetop wildlife, including monkeys, toucans, and flocks of colorful parrots and macaws.
Oxbow Lake
Duration: Half Day
On the oxbow lake visit, you experience one of the most important and distinct habitats in the Amazon. They form when a river bend gets cut off from its main channel, transforming it into a calm lake. After a quick boat trip from the lodge, you hike a short distance inland to the lake. Then, you and your guide will take a pleasant ride around the lake to spot wildlife. There, you have a great chance of seeing the Hoatzin, a bizarre, dinosaur-looking bird, along with troops of Squirrel Monkeys, rare Giant Otters, huge Caiman, and majestic Macaws flying overhead.
Amazon Birdwatching
Duration: from 2 hours to Half Day
Because it lies deep within the Amazon Rainforest, our Tambopata, Peru home is a paradise for birdwatching. Over 600 bird species have been discovered in the area, making it one of the best places in the world for birdwatchers.
Chuncho Macaw Clay Lick
Duration: Half Day
For one of the best tropical bird experiences in the Amazon, you need to visit the Chuncho Macaw Clay Lick. Due to nutrients, most likely salt, found in the cliff soil, the Clay Lick attracts dozens of species of birds. From huge Red and Green Macaws to Mealy Parrots, the birds flock here to munch on nutrient-rich clay. The macaws are the largest and loudest of the bunch, leaving a lasting impression on everyone who sees them.
Sunset Cruise
Duration: 1 hour and a half.
There is no better place to experience a sunset than a tranquil boat in the Amazon jungle. In the afternoon, your guide will accompany you to one of our comfortable lanchas. There, you will embark upon the easygoing Sunset Cruise.
Tambopata Aerobotany
Duration: 2 hours
Aerobotany is where classic field biology and cutting-edge technology meet. In the middle of the spectacularly diverse rainforest, you get the chance to contribute to science in a way that few ever do. You will help use a special drone to take aerial photos of the rainforest canopy, studying it over time.
Mammal Clay Lick
Duration: 2 hours
Just a few minutes away from our Refugio Amazonas lodge, a small clay cliff attracts dozens of species. Night and day, these animals, especially mammals, munch on the salty clay to supplement their diets. While all types of animals come to munch the clay, it’s most known for White Lipped Peccaries. These wild, odd looking jungle pigs show up in herds of five to twenty individuals to eat clay in the late morning.
Jungle Mountain Biking
Duration: 1 hour and a half.
If you like action, Jungle Mountain Biking is a great way to explore and experience the beauty of the rainforest. Along our ten kilometers of trails, you will pass through pristine forest, and even encounter wildlife along the way. We will make sure you’re equipped with a GT mountain bike, helmet, and cycling gear, water bottle, and, of course, an experienced mountain biking guide.
Overlook Trail
Duration: 2 hours
Engage in a unique experience as you walk along the Tambopata River through the trail to the viewpoint. This trail unveils the secrets of two different worlds: the Terra Firme Forest and the Secondary Forest. After this walk, you will feel connected to the richness of biodiversity that the Amazon harbors.
