We will pick you up from your accommodation in Arequipa around 14:00h then we will start our visit the monastery of Santa Catalina, which is a sample of four centuries of Arequipa architecture, the intrusive cells, the small streets and cloisters full of colorful flowers and walls painted in fresh dyes. The narrow alleys lead to the various parts of the convent that go through picturesque places and places to stay and sleep with the original furniture. You will revive and will be lost in the way of time. The mansion has been occupied by various prominent figures such as doctors, bishops, generals, and priests. It features a small chapel, a beautiful main patio, and colorful gardens. During the tour, you will observe rooms adorned with canvases, ceramics, and furniture brought from Europe.

4: Molino de Sabandia

Stop first at the St Lazarus quarter, where Arequipa was founded. Walk down lovely streets lined with flowers and historic homes. At the Carmen Alto viewpoint, stop for views and photo ops of the surrounding farmland, framed by the Pichu Pichu, Cachani and Misti volcanoes.

5: Museo Santuarios Andinos

We will visit the Andean Sanctuaries Museum, an archaeological museum with a very interesting collection of various artifacts belonging to the Inca culture with an approximate antiquity of 500 years, and exhibition of mummies from ancient Peru.

You will be able to appreciate the good state of preservation of the famous Lady of Ampato, as well as the mummification process used to keep her in good condition.

Also known as Juanita Mummy, she is a young Inca girl aged between 13 and 14, who was found frozen on the Ampato Volcano in 1995 and is currently kept protected inside an urn at a temperature of 19 degrees below zero. She was found with offerings around her such as gold and precious stone figurines, and other objects that are exhibited in the museum.

At the end of the guided tour, we will drop you back at the hotel or in the city center.

Exciting experience canoeing in the Chili River, just 20 minutes from the Plaza de Armas, the chili is a river with low flow, but with many rapids class II , III and IV. We pick you up from your hotel then we transfer you to our equipment warehouse after that we headed to the area of the Gruta of the Virgin of Chapi in Charcani where you will receive instructions on the proper use of equipment, the descent of the river is down a flight of 7 Km. Get picked up from your Arequipa hotel in the morning by an air-conditioned coach bus, and transfer to the traditional district of Cayma via the new Chilina Bridge.

While in Cayma youll have time to visit the main church, home of the Virgin of Candelaria built by Dominican monks in 1544, and explore the main plaza. Proceed next to the Añashuayco district, where youll learn about how the areas famous white volcanic stone (called Sillar) is mined and extracted for use in Arequipas buildings. Youll also get an introduction to local geology and the daily operations of the area quarries.

Continue your trip in Yanahuara, stopping to shop for bargains in the market of Antiquilla. Youll also visit Yanahuaras main plaza, offering wonderful views of the regions nearby volcanoes and the areas traditional streets. Leave Yanahuara and continue to Arequipas main square, where youll learn about the citys famous cathedral from your guide.

1: Historical Centre of the City of Arequipa

We start the tour driving towards to the district of Cayma, one of Arequipas traditional districts, taking as a route the new bride of Chilina that allow as to enjoy a view of our city and its terraces with the Chili River. In Cayma we will visit the Main Plaza and its Church, where the Dominican monks built a chapel in the year 1544 and today this Chapel is the sanctuary of the Virgin of Candelaria.

Finishing with this visit we will drive to the area of Añashuayco; place where the famous volcanic stone Sillar is extracted (Sillar is the white volcanic stone that is used in the construction of colonial buildings in the city of Arequipa).

In the area of Añashuayco, your guide will give you information about the origin and geological formations of the quarries and we will have the opportunity to observe the hard work that this job takes.

We will drive to Yanahuara; where we will visit the popular market of Antiquilla, that until today keep the colonial building style of the Old Arequipa and Yanahuara Main Plaza, having a wonderful view of the city and its volcanoes and exploring some traditional streets.
