We will departure from huaraz at 5:00 am, in the route we will pass for principals towns like Tarica, Anta, Yungar, Carhuaz, Tingua, Ranrahirca and Yungay; from this place we will take a detour to the east, then in Huashao we make a stop to have breakfast after that we will continue and entering to the Llanganuco Valley; part of the National Park, the second stop will be in Llanganuco lake (Chinancocha) for a few minutes to take fothograps, then the last stop is in Cebollapampa where we start to walk, after 3 hours of walking we arrive to 69 lake where we will have a great panoramic view arround the lake we will see the beautiful mountains such as: Chopicalqui, Pisco, Yanapaccha y Chacraraju, we will stay for 1 hour aproximately; after the lunch, we will return to Yuraccorral to take the bus back to Huaraz.

A private car will pick you up at ~3AM from your hotel. After a 2h30 drive, you will reach the trailhead in Punta Olimpica.

At the first sunrise lights, you will start hiking with our certified mountain guide for 1h on steep moraine rocks, then 1h30 on glacier with crampons and safety rope. You will finally summit the Mateo glacier at 5150m shortly after sunrise!!

WHAT TO EXPECT

1: Huascaran National Park

3:30 AM Hotel pickup.
Drive 2.5 hours north of Huaraz, passing through Carhuaz and Shilla, and entering Huascarán National Park.
Entrance fee: 30 soles
Park at Punto Olimpia.

6:00 AM Begin hiking along the glacier moraine (~1 hour) until reaching the glacier base, where we will put on crampons, rope up, and start the ascent to the summit (~1 hour). From the top of San Mateo, enjoy views of the remains of the majestic Contrahiervas Mountain and the Cancora Lagoons. Take time to relax and enjoy the scenery before descending the same route. Once back at the vehicle, we will pack up and return to Huaraz.

2:30 PM Arrival back in Huaraz.

It must be ready from the time indicated for the pick-up, the vehicle will pass (once) accommodation per accommodation. it will take a few minutes between one pick-up point and the next. Please be patient, there may be traffic delays (especially on holidays) or other reasons beyond the companys control. We never leave anyone, but for a better experience we request punctuality and communicate any contingency in advance.

WHAT TO EXPECT

We will start very early (5:00 to 5:30 a.m.) heading towards the Huascarán National Park.
We will make a brief stop for those who have not had breakfast, in a restaurant in the communities near the Huascarán National Park (breakfast not included)
Once inside the park, we will make a short stop at the Chinancocha Lagoon (Llanganuco 3850 m.s.n.m.) to take pictures. We will continue towards the starting point of the Trekking (Cebollapampa).
We will start a 3-hour uphill Trekking (7km).
Once in Laguna 69 (4610 m.s.n.m.) we will have a space to enjoy it and for spectacular photographic shots (be creative). The time spent in the lagoon will depend on climatic factors, time of arrival, season, among others.
Do not forget to bring a snack to recover energy during the walk (not included).
We will begin the descent of 3 hours (7km) towards the transport vehicle.
