_Chinchero Town - Half Day - Private
- Type:Museums, Galleries, and Art Expositions
- Duration:4 Hours
Depart early in the morning for Chinchero, a small Andean Indian village located high up on the windswept plains of Anta with beautiful views overlooking the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
Chinchero is believed to be the mythical birthplace of the rainbow. The village may have been an important town in Inca times. The most striking remains from this period is the massive stonewall in the main plaza, which has ten trapezoidal niches. The construction of the wall and many other ruins and agricultural terraces (which are still in use) are attributed to Inca Tupac Yupanqui who possibly used Chinchero as a kind of country resort. In the main plaza, there is an adobe colonial church, dating from the early seventeenth century, which was built upon the foundations of an Inca temple or palace. The ceiling and walls are covered in beautiful floral and religious designs. The church is open on Sundays for mass.
Wander and shop around the nice native market, which is one of the most typical and commendable ones in the region. It is still possible to observe bartering of goods, and almost always people exchange tropical goods such as fruits, coca leaves or salt for some other regional goods such as potatoes, broad beans, or ollucos. There is a market for tourists with diverse handicrafts and excellent weavings.

Horse riding in the Sacred Valley - Private Tour
- Type:Unique Experiences
- Duration:4 Hours
Sightsee in the best possible way; on horseback! We will pick you up from your hotel and drive up to the Paucarbamba Bridge (9,512 ft), where we will meet our horses. An experimented Peruvian Paso trainer will show you some riding techniques and recommendations to be used along the ride. We will cross the Urubamba River, also known as sacred river, where we will see spectacular scenery with snow-covered mountains and agriculture terraces.
Soak in the natural ambiance of these breathtaking sites while we carry on down the Inca trail. Settlements, tunnels, and many Incan ruins are located along the trail so make sure that you grab your camera. The trail winds through a tropical rainforest complete with lush foliage, exotic wildflowers and the requisite swarm of mosquitoes and then meanders out to the edge of a heart-stopping ridge; the Inca Bridge. Looking down, there is little between you and a 1,900-foot drop to the open valley below. Here is where our van will be waiting for us to return to the hotel. Make sure to reserve your Paucarbamba tour and enjoy the best views that Peru has to offer.

Machu Picchu Full-Day Tour from Sacred Valley - with Tourist Class Train Ticket

- Duration:9 Hours
This category of train has 42-person coaches come complete with spacious leather seats for maximum enjoyment. All seats feature individual dining tables and panoramic windows to enjoy the awesome scenery on the route. Our carriages are also equipped with air-conditioning, anti-impact and UV protected glazing. Along the journey, we offer to the passengers a tasty selection of sweet and savoury snacks, fruits and a variety of cold and warm beverages.
Upon arrival to Machu Picchu town you will be contacted by our representative who will escort you to take the bus to the ""Lost City of the Incas"" which was discovered by American explorer Hiram Bingham in 1911 (25-minute motor-coach ride). Located on the left bank of the Vilcanota river lies the wonderful old city of Machu Picchu, which in quechua means "Old Mountain".
According to research, Machu Picchu would have been one of the vacation residences of Pachacutec, the first Inca emperor between 1438 and 1470. However, some of its finest buildings and the evident ceremonial purpose of the main access road to the village, prove that it was used as a religious shrine.
Machu Picchu is considered both a masterpiece of architecture and engineering because of its unique architectural and landscaping features. Prominent constructions among its buildings are the Main Square, the Royal Quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows, the Circular Towers, the Sacred Sun Dial and the Burial Grounds, among others of singular architecture and importance.
Your guide will narrate and explain all about this splendid citadel, which is a truly amazing experience. According to the train departure time, you can enjoy a delicious lunch before or after the start of the tour. Return by train to Ollanta Station and upon arrival you will be transferred to your hotel in the Sacred Valley.

_Maras and Moray - Half Day - Private
- Type:Archaeology and Ancient Ruins
- Duration:4 Hours
Depart from your hotel for a tour of Moray. Famous for its sunken amphitheater, made up of four circular terraces, which appear to disappear into the earth like an artificial crater. The site was apparently an Inca agricultural research station designed for experimenting with crops at various altitudes (some of which run down to depths of 100 meters). It is believed that the terraces, built over containing walls filled with fertile earth and watered by complex irrigation systems, enabled the Incas to grow more than 250 plant species.
From Moray, you continue to Maras, which was a pre-Incan settlement that was later abandoned. Its important occupation began when the Cusquenian Incan noblemen were dispossessed of their palaces in Cuzco and had to move. They settled in other small towns such as San Sebastian and Maras. Maras also served as a stronghold during the war started by Manko Inka trying to recover his Quechua nation. Many of its houses are emblazoned with Spanish nobility coats of arms on their lintels, which indicate the importance gained by the town in colonial times. Today it is a town that languishes due to its isolation and development of modern life.
