After picking you up at the hotel located in the city of Trujillo, we are going to departure towards the Chicama Valley, located about 33 kilometers north of Trujillo, to visit El Brujo archaeological complex, which belongs to the Mochica culture.

In 1990 the excavations began and discovered the Huaca Cao Viejo, pyramid that reaches the 46 meters of height, counts on walls decorated with friezes and reliefs of colors that portray complex scenes and geometric figures. This ancient site has three main monuments: Huaca Prieta, Huaca Cao Viejo and Huaca Cortada.

We will visit Huaca Cao with its beautiful polychrome murals. In the Ceremonial Plaza we will see the prisoners and a wall with the Mochica Calendar. Then, we go up to the enclosure where was discovered the tomb of the Lady of Cao. This patio is decorated with murals where the moches represented Aia-Paec and as well the cat fish.
Cao Museum This museum offer a global vision of the cultural process of the archaeological complex. It is made up for six thematic halls, in which are exhibited textiles, pottery, engraved gourds and ornaments made in wood.

The last room is dedicated to the Lady of Cao whose tomb was discovered in 2006. The different ornaments used by this important woman were buried with her: earrings, nose rings, crowns, necklaces, tunics and clubs.

Following our route we will visit the Huacas de Moche Museum. Inside, there are pieces of pottery and other objects found during the excavations in the archaeological complex from 1991 until now.

We take our car to go in Huaca de La Luna. At the moment it is in excavation. In the interior we will find the beautiful polychrome murals with the representation of the main God called: Ai-Paec, also known as the Decapitator. We walk to the Ceremonial Plaza to observe the stepped facade with enigmatic reliefs in color.

After breakfast at the hotel, a guide will pick you up from your hotel and transfer you to the Huacas del Sol and Luna, after stopping at an artisan workshop of a traditional Moche family. Next you will go to the archaeological complex of Las Huacas, the which includes two large truncated pyramids, the Huaca Las Estrellas, Huaca del Cerro Blanco, the geoglyph of the Spider and other buildings located in front of Cerro Blanco and near the Moche River.

When you arrive, you'll learn about the Moche people, the civilization that inhabited northern Peru from the 1st to 8th centuries and built the two temples you have come to see.
