WHAT TO EXPECT

Get ready for your Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend full-day tour by meeting at the designated spot in Flagstaff. Once you meet your Navajo guide, head out for the first stop on this adventureHorseshoe Bend.

At Horseshoe Bend, take a short 2-mile (3.2-kilometer) hike to stop at one of the best overlooks for enjoying the beauty of the area.

Next, stop at Glen Canyon Dam Overlook for an included picnic lunch with soda and bottled water provided, too.

After lunch, continue on to see Antelope Canyon with your guide. Your guide takes you all the way down to the canyon and can help you set up your camera to get amazing photos of the slot canyon.

Next, it's off to Horseshoe Bend. Take an approximate 0.75-mile (1.2-km) hike that brings you to one of the best overlooks. As you approach the edge, take in the wonderful view.

WHAT TO EXPECT

After hotel pickup in Flagstaff, settle into your comfortable climate-controlled van for the scenic drive to the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area and Colorado River. Along the way, cross through the San Francisco Volcanic Field and enjoy views of the Painted Desert, which is part of the Petrified Forest National Park. Drive through part of the vast Navajo Nation and visit a trading post with Native American crafts for sale.

When you reach the shores of the Colorado River, your rafting guide meets you and provides a safety briefing along with an introduction to the river. Then board your raft for a gentle float trip on the river. Keep your camera handy for photo ops of the spectacular scenery as you glide downstream. Stop to see some of the highlights up close, including towering canyon walls and ancient Native American petroglyphs, and perhaps take a dip in the cold river if you dare.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Your Grand Canyon tour begins with morning pickup from your Flagstaff hotel.

Head north to visit Sunset Crater Volcano National Monument. Get great photo ops of the 1,120 foot (340 meters) high cinder cone and take a short walk on a trail that leads through the lava fields of the Bonito Lava Flow.

Continue your drive to Wupatki National Monument, which encompasses ruins from the ancient Pueblo People. The site was once one of the largest trading centers for the Native Americans of the region. Visit the Kiva (ceremonial room) and ball court as you hear about the Sinagua Indians and modern-day tribes in Arizona that live there.

Stop for lunch (own expense) at the Cameron Trading Post, which has been in operation on the Navajo reservation since the early 1900s. Browse the gift shop for Native American handicrafts.

Continue to Grand Canyon National Park and stop at the South Rim. Take in sweeping views as you visit several overlooks and the Grand Canyon Village overlooks.

WHAT TO EXPECT
After a brief 30 minute training session, you begin on the GREEN course where you get comfortable with the equipment and the rhythm of moving through each element. SILVER is next and the cable ladders and tent elements will really start to test you! After defeating the Silver course you will move on to the BLUE course. Suddenly childhood memories of swinging on ropes and climbing trees comes back to you. Your agility and sense of freedom return and away you go!

Up further into the trees you head on the RED course. Climbing higher into the trees, try not to let your emotions get the best of you. Balance comes into play when crossing wobbly bridges and swinging surprises. Youre feeling confident now, you have defeated the first three courses and cant help laughing out loud as you zip through the forest or watch your friend try to walk gracefully across a moving obstacle.

Now its time for the ultimate in focus and fitness: the BLACK course. Before you set off, your senses take in the natural beauty and harmony of your surroundings. You climb up even further into the tree canopy discovering that your movements are even more fluid than before.

As your journey ends at Flagstaff Extreme you leave with a smile, a sense of achievement and memories that live on.

The courses are meant to be used progressively and the cost of admission covers one loop or rotation through the Adult courses. At any exit point along the courses, you can descend. Walking paths will take you back to the guest services and welcome center.

WHAT TO EXPECT

1: Verde Valley Archaeology Center

The museum has nine galleries that cover family life of the 11th to 14th Centuries, mineral/ore collecting of ancient peoples, the history of the Yavapai-Apache Nation, prehistoric ceramic production, and the migrations of the Hisatsinom (ancestral Hopi). There are currently two special exhibits.

Space Rocks! is an exhibit of meteorites on loan from Arizona State University's Center for Meteor Studies. These meteorites were all part of the Canyon Diablo meteorite that created Meteor Crater, however, they were found in or near Sinagua ruins in the Verde Valley area.

A second limited exhibit is a retrospective of the art of Paul Dyck. The exhibit features works on loan from the Scottsdale Museum of the West, the Tucson Museum of Art, and private collections. Paul Dyck (1917-2006) was a local painter who grew up among many Plains Indian communities which became the subject of much of his work..

WHAT TO EXPECT

Your Grand Canyon tour begins with morning pickup from your Flagstaff hotel in a climate-controlled vehicle, and a scenic drive to the Grand Canyon.

Head out of Flagstaff and look for the San Francisco Peaks, a volcanic mountain range with Arizona´s highest mountain, and the historic town of Williams on Route 66.

Upon arrival at Grand Canyon National Park, stop at the overlook at Grand Canyon Village to soak in the views across the majestic canyon. Keep an eye out for condors the world´s largest bird.

After lunch on your own, your guide takes you to the top viewpoints along the South Rim, Visit Yavapai Point, which also has a geology museum; Lipan Point, where you can look down into the canyon; and Desert View, which has a historic watchtower and Hopi art.
