Your Naturalist guide will focus on searching for, viewing, and learning about the area's world class wildlife. Frequent sightings include, moose, elk, bighorn sheep, mule deer, bald eagles, coyote, bison and occasionally wolves. On average, there are roughly 5,000 elk that migrate to the Refuge during the winter months. If youre lucky you may even see more (herds of up to six to eight thousand have been reported!) Elk are usually seen on the Refuge December to April.

WHAT TO EXPECT

You will join one of our Naturalist Guides on a snowy adventure through Grand Teton National Park. For a half day (4hr) guided beginner cross-country ski tour, well provide winter ecology interpretation and professional nordic skiing instruction. You will meet us at our downtown meeting location in Jackson WY and then we will provide transportation do one of the many great nordic Ski areas in Grand Teton based on weather and wind conditions. Our programs are offered as small groups with a maximum of 7 participants. Guides are all trained nordic instructors. We will spend a great day half day in the wintrer wonderland of Grand Teton exploring the snow and transport guests back to Jackson.
Activity Level: Leisure
This type of tour will focus on taking advantage of teaching moments to learn about cross-country skiing technique and winter ecology. We'll have plenty of time to stop and take photos and we'll be moving at a pace where you can easily hold a conversation with friends.
We offer private programs that can cater to any activity level.

Become an adventurer as you follow the tracks of your local naturalist guide through rolling hills and snow covered forested groves at the base of the Grand Teton Mountain Range.
Our half day (4hr) guided snowshoeing tour will give you a taste of the beauty and uniqueness that backcountry travel offers. Your guide will design the tour around your groups interests and desires, creating a customized and unparalleled experience. We will provide all of the necessary snowshoeing equipment. Throughout the program your guide will present your group with a variety of high quality snacks to enjoy during your stops. As we explore the parks backcountry, well keep watch for animal signs, interpreting tracks and unique habitats. Our Wildlife & Snowshoeing adventure offers an authentic winter experience that combines the wildness of Grand Teton National Park and the discovery of the ecology and wildlife that make it unique.
Well spend the first half of the day on a snowshoe adventure in Grand Teton National Park. While we are exploring the backcountry we will keep an eye out for animal tracks and signs, discussing topics like winter ecology and snow science. WHAT TO EXPECT
Rental can start and end up anytime between our normal operation hours. E-Bicycles and equipment will only be rented to adults age 18 or older. 16+ adults can only utilize bicycles and equipment under the direct supervision of a parent or legal guardian. A waiver must be signed at the time of the rental Pickup. We'll guide you to the most scenic routes in Jackson Hole and Grand Teton National Park. Electric bike rental is the best way to be immersed in the raw beauty of Jackson Hole. Our easy to use electric bikes require no more experience then a regular bicycle. They are silent, effortless and lots of fun! The valley of Jackson Hole has over 56 miles of paved pathways that link the town of Jackson to Teton Village and Grand Teton National Park. WHAT TO EXPECT

Your wildlife safari of Yellowstone National Park begins from your Jackson or Teton Village hotel or lodging, where youll head towards the park in the early morning for the best chance of encountering wildlife. The full-day program begins by passing through Grand Teton National Park, stopping to view wildlife along the way.

This tour of the Yellowstone National Park is the perfect way to observe wildlife as well as take in Yellowstones numerous geyser basins.

Youll continue on to Yellowstone National Park, making stops at Old Faithful, Yellowstone Lake, the Lower Falls of the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone, Hayden Valley, and several geyser basins. Enjoy commentary on Yellowstone National Parks history, geology, wildfires, and wildlife throughout the tour.

On March 1, 1872, Yellowstone became the first national park for all to enjoy the unique hydrothermal and geologic features.
We'll be exploring the Lower Loop of Yellowstone National Park on your tour! You will get to experience a little of everything that makes Yellowstone National Park so famous: wildlife, geysers (including Old Faithful), waterfalls, and unforgettable scenery.

Old Faithful Inn was Built in 1903-1904 with local logs and stone from what is now the Yellowstone National Park area. The Inn is considered the largest log structure in the world. The towering lobby features a massive stone fireplace and a hand-crafted clock made of copper, wood and wrought iron serving as focal points.

Lower Falls, the biggest waterfall in Yellowstone at 308-feet tall, is the most famous waterfall in the park.
The canyons colors were created by hot water acting on volcanic rock. It was not these colors, but the rivers yellow banks at its distant confluence with the Missouri River, that occasioned the Minnetaree Indian name which French trappers translated as roche jaune, yellow stone. The canyon has been rapidly downcut more than once, perhaps by great glacial outburst floods.

6: Fountain Paint Pot

The Fountain Paint Pots is an amazing stop in Yellowstone National Park's Lower Loop. They are mud pots located in Lower Geyser Basin in Yellowstone National Park. The Fountain Paint Pots are named for the rich reds, and vivid yellows and browns of the mud in this area. The differing colors are derived from oxidation states of the iron in the mud.

7: Hayden Valley

Hayden Valley is a must stop wildlife paradise and the location of the largest herd of free roaming bison in the world. We'll be watching for bears, wolves, bison, elk, mule deer, coyotes, fox, eagles, pronghorn and other critters while driving through this beautiful area!

8: West Thumb Geyser Basin

WHAT TO EXPECT

This Grand Teton wildlife tour begins at your Jackson Hole hotel, where your local guide will transport you to Grand Teton National Park.

Upon entering the snowy and scenic park, join your guide in scanning the landscape for movement and signs of wildlife, and since your knowledgeable guide knows right where to look, theres a good chance of spotting a wealth of wildlife from bison to eagles to elk. Bighorn sheep are also common in Grand Teton National Park, as are moose, mule deer, coyotes, pronghorn antelope, and wolves.

1: Mormon Row Historic District

Leaders of the Mormon church sent parties from the Salt Lake Valley to establish new communities and support their expanding population. Mormon homesteaders, who settled east of Blacktail Butte near the turn of the 19-century, clustered their farms to share labor and community, a stark contrast with the isolation typical of many western homesteads.

Homesteaders established 27 homesteads in the area because of relatively fertile soil, shelter from winds by Blacktail Butte and access to the Gros Ventre River. We will visit their homesteads and learn about the history of homesteaders in the area

WHAT TO EXPECT

After morning or afternoon pickup at your accommodation in Jackson or Teton Village, head into Grand Teton National Park in the comfortable climate-controlled vehicle.

The route often begins by following the Gros Ventre River and heading towards Kelly and Mormon Row, where moose are often spotted. Continue to Mormon Row Historic District, a Mormon settlement that dates to the 1890s, where you can see historical homesteads and the spectacular backdrop of Teton Range.

Loop north into the heart of Grand Teton National Park, going towards Jackson Lake to take in places such as Signal Mountain, Willow Flats, Oxbow Bend, Elk Ranch Flats, Dead Mans Bar, Snake River Overlook, and more. On Winter Tours (November to April) we visit the National Elk Refuge just north of the town of Jackson.

There are thousands of elk on the refuge and the local wolves follow their preferred down out of the mountains. This is the best time to see wolves in Jackson Hole.

The refuge is also the winter home of the Jackson herd of big horn sheep. During their December rut the rams put on a quite a show head-butting each other to win the right to mate with the ewes.

WHAT TO EXPECT

This tour begins at your Jackson hotel when you meet your professional guide, before boarding a comfortable, air-conditioned coach for the drive to Grand Teton National Park.

As you approach Grand Teton National Park, the first thing youll notice are the jagged peaks of Wyomings Teton Range. Upon entering Grand Teton National Park (entrance fee extra), your first stop will be at the historic cabins of the Mormon Row Historic District.

From here youll continue to Menors Ferry, a historic ferry service across the Snake. Youll also see the exterior of Maud Nobles Cabin, a homestead where your guide will explain the lives of Wyomings early settlers.

With a healthy dose of Wyoming history now under your belt, you can really start to experience the legendary beauty that makes the national park famous. Admire the views from the Jenny Lake Overlook, and time permitting, stroll to String Lake.

Youll stop at Jackson Lake Lodge to purchase lunch (own expense), before venturing out to Jackson Lake to enjoy lunch with a view of the alpine scenery. While here, listen as your guide explains how the park has dozens of species of mammals, as well as 300 bird species, and 1,000 species of plants.

Before you return to Jackson, youll stop at the Colter Bay Visitor Center, where you can peruse a vast array of American Indian artifacts. On the drive back, keep your eyes peeled around the Oxbow Bend where its common to spot moose or deer.
