The Lower Antelope Canyon, called Hazdistazí, or 'spiral rock arches' by the Navajo, is located several miles from the Upper Antelope Canyon. Prior to the installation of metal stairways, visiting the canyon required climbing pre-installed ladders in certain areas.

Upper Antelope Canyon is called Ts bighnln, 'the place where water runs through rocks' by the Navajo. It is the most frequently visited by tourists because its entrance and entire length are at ground level, requiring no climbing; and because beams of direct sunlight radiating down from openings at the top of the canyon are much more common. Beams occur most often in summer, as they require the sun to be high in the sky. Winter colors are more muted.

The hike is about. 6 miles one-way to the overlook. The overlook is about a 1,000 meter drop, looking down onto the Colorado River.

A short hike down a set of rock-carved stairs leads to this viewpoint on the rim of the river & dam. This short walk takes you to a viewpoint on the canyon rim high above the Colorado River. This scenic view provides spectacular vistas of the Colorado River as it flows through Glen Canyon and of Glen Canyon Dam itself. From the parking area, follow the metal handrail down the uneven rock steps.

1: Antelope Canyon X by Taadidiin Tours

The 1.5-hour Antelope Canyon X hiking tour begins at the Navajo Nation Reservation. After parking and payment, you are transported in a 4×4 transport vehicle 3 miles to the mouth of Antelope Canyon X, where you then hike 100 meters into Antelope Canyon X. At the bottom, tour guides assist you through a tour of the first slot canyon. After the first slot canyon is complete, guides accompany you on the 200-meter walk to the second slot canyon.

If you are choosing the photography tour, you will have 2.5 hours in canyon. This tour is for photography hobbyists, people looking to spend more time in the canyon and make use of a tripod.

In Antelope Canyon, there is an X formed by the impact of millions of years of flooding and wind. This "Antelope Canyon X" is located just southeast of Page and belonging to the Navajo Indian Reserve. It is in a dry year-round river course.

Take a short drive to the entrance of the X Canyon. Explore the beauty of the X Gorge with the local Native Guide. Explore the slit gorge on a hiking trip. Walk first 100 meters to X Canyon to see the first slit-type canyons, which is hidden in the foot seams and full of mysteries. Then walk 200 meters with your guide to reach the second gorge. Overlooking from the air, you will see the water flowing in the sand and stones. In this gorge, the X formed by the millions of years of flooding and wind-engraving Navajo sandstone will stand out clear as day. When the sun shines on two deep and quiet valleys, the light and shadow will create a charming tableaux. It has become am exciting destination for photography enthusiasts so feel free to take as many photos as you'd like!

Meet a driver at your Sedona hotel for 6am departure, then enjoy views of the desert as you drive through Oak Creek Canyon on your way to the top of the Colorado Plateaufrom there, youll have views of the San Francisco Peaks, Arizonas tallest volcano.

Descend into the Painted Desert to the historic Cameron Trading Post, where Zuni, Hopi, and Navajo artists display their work, then continue to Page, to begin your river trip (total distance from Sedona to Page is 158 miles, or 254 km).

Board an inflatable raft, then launch into the current of the Colorado River. With 3.5 hours on the water, youll pass through Glen Canyon on your way to Lees Ferry, a remarkably scenic stretch of the river. See cliffs that rise straight from the river, then pull to the side of the water for lunch on a beach with ancient petroglyphs. Challenge yourself to a swim in the cold river, then dry off and warm up on the final stretch to Lees Ferry.

Meet the vehicle at the take out point, and begin the return trip to Sedona, with stops to see balancing rocks in the desert, and to walk across the Navajo Bridge. This full-day tour concludes with drop-off at the original departure point.

Pick up from 28 select hotels/Airbnb's and two campgrounds within the City Limits of Page, Arizona, 15-20 minutes before your tour. We do not pick up from Page Lake Powell Resort. If you do not have a hotel pickup location set or plan on driving in on the day of your tour, we do ask our guest to meet us at the Walmart Super Center in Page, Arizona.

Our first stop is the Lower Antelope Canyon. Lower Antelope Canyon is a MODERATE tour for guest. You will hike 1.1 miles from start to finish (1770.27 meters). Upon entering the Canyon, you will descend 74 steps to the bottom of the Canyon. once at the bottom you will hike at a gradual incline towards the exit along with ladders and small stairs into each chamber of the Canyon. You may google LOWER ANTELOPE STAIRS & LADDERS, and you will have a visual of the steps and ladders (5 ladders & 2 small stairs toward the exit). The tour guides will give you photo tips and information of the Slot Canyons. As well as cultural information of the Dineh.

After the Lower Antelope Canyon we will stop at a picnic area where you may use the restroom. Additional food and drinks may be purchased at this location.

The second portion of the tour will be at the Horseshoe Bend Overlook. The Horseshoe Bend is all flat smooth surfaced path. You will hike less than a half mile to the picturesque Overlook (1.5 miles/1770meters roundtrip).

1: Lower Antelope Canyon

Over the years, Lower Antelope Canyon has become a favorite gathering place for photographers, tourists, and visitors from around the world.
The views in Lower Antelope Canyon change constantly as the sun moves across the sky, filtering lights softly across the stone walls. These ever-moving sun angles bounce light back and forth across the narrow canyons walls, creating a dazzling display of color, light, and shadow.
The Navajo name for Lower Antelope Canyon is Hasdeztwazi or Spiral Rock Arches. Many years ago, herds of Pronghorn Antelope roamed freely in and around the canyon, which explains the English name. This incredible canyon has been created over millions of years by the relentless forces of water and wind, slowly carving and sculpting the sandstone into forms, textures, and shapes which we observe today.

Warning: When the temperature reaches 110°F (43°C), Antelope Canyon will probably be closed, for your safety, due to excessive heat. During July and August, this can happen as early as 11AM each day.

There are steel ladders anchored into the canyon walls. The ladders vary from 3 ft. to 25 ft. being the longest. Ladders over 8 ft. have handrails in place. The canyon is easily accessible going in and out. There are escape rope ladders placed on top of the canyon, in metal boxes, for any type of emergencies.

No bags & backpacks (including fanny packs, hydration bags and purses)

No tripods, monopods, selfie-sticks, camera bags

No GoPros, Action cameras or camcorders (no filming inside the canyon)

No open-toed shoes, sandals or high heels (proper clothing required)

No umbrellas

No Smoking (inside building or canyon)

Cremation spreading is not allowed in Navajo Nation Tribal Parks

NO REFUNDS once the booking is confirmed. Refunds will not be issued for no-shows and being late. Regretfully, illness, fear of COVID, forgotten reservations, misjudging travel times, traffic, and other emergencies do not affect this strict policy. We're sorry!

Check in time is 30 minutes prior to the tour time. All times on this tour page and confirmations are in ARIZONA TIME (Summer time: Same time as Pacific Time; Winter time Same time as Mountain Time. - No Daylight Saving Time - Not Utah Time - Not Navajo Nation Time). Because the Utah State Line is less than 7 miles away, cell phone towers from Utah (and the surrounding Navajo Nation) often will be the wrong time! Do yourself a favor and do like the locals do: Manually set your cell phone to PHOENIX, AZ time.

No Drugs, Alcohol in Navajo Nation

Closed toed shoes are recommended. We discourage skirts and dresses due to the ladders and the terrain. We abide by a No Shirt, No Shoes, No Service policy. If you are wearing undergarments (bras, sport bras, etc) or swimwear (bikini tops, etc) ONLY, you will not be allowed on tour. We ask our guests to dress modest because we do accommodate families.

Local office will abide by CDC and Navajo Department of Health guidelines. Failure to adhere to guidelines set forth will result in forfeiting your Tour and removal from the premises. NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN IN THIS SITUATION!

Antelope Canyon Tours departs every 1/2 hour a quarter after and a quarter till the hour, the tour is a 1.5 hours waling tour and climbing down some ladders is involved. Please wear comfortable shoes for this 600 meter trip.

Lower Antelope Canyon Tours has smaller group sizes and the guide stays with you during the entire tour, sharing information about the geology, history, and Navajo Traditional ways.

The Lower Antelope Canyon tends to be less crowded than the Upper Antelope Canyon and is preferred by many because of its narrow canyon walls and ladders that take you to the levels that have been carved by flash floods from the upper mesas. The sandstone walls are exquisitely formed, and the Lower Antelope Canyon offers a longer canyon exploration.

Pick up from select hotels/Airbnbs and two campgrounds within City Limits of Page, Arizona, 15-20 minutes before your tour. We do not pick up from Page Lake Powell Resort.

Navajo Mountain (Pass by)

Standing at 10,348 feet, Navajo Mountain is the tallest mountain located on the Navajo Nation.

Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument (Pass by)

Grand Staircase-Escalante is 2.3 million acres of Federal land in southern Utah.

1: Antelope Canyon

Our first stop will be at the Upper Antelope Canyon. Upper Antelope Canyon is an easy hike for guest. Transport to the entrance of the Canyon is located 4 miles from the main highway. From the drop off point at the entrance will be a 1-mile hike roundtrip (1609 meters). Upon exiting the Canyon, you will hike on an incline up and around the top of the Canyon and descend 150 steps staircase back to the vehicle drop-off point. You will do a 1-hour tour and will see the difference in the Upper and Lower Antelope Canyons.

2: Big Lake Trading Post

After the Upper Antelope Canyon we will stop at a picnic area where you may use the restroom. Additional food and drinks may be purchased at this location.

3: Horseshoe Bend

The second portion of the tour will be at the Horseshoe Bend Overlook. The Horseshoe Bend is all flat smooth surfaced path. You will hike less than a half mile to the picturesque Overlook (1.5 miles/1770meters roundtrip).
