WHAT TO EXPECT

We will first do a tour of the studio and gallery, looking at kinds of pottery, visiting the kilns and learning about the process. We do a quick "demo" of pottery throwing. Then visitors don aprons, sit down at their wheels, and (with lots of hands-on help) begin making pots! Everyone should be able to make 4 or 5 pieces.

For safety purposes, all of our workshops are now PRIVATE for each group. Your group may be one person or 8, but you will not share the classroom with any other students.

Come ride 3 of the biggest and fastest ziplines in California! Once checked in, all guests will be fitted with a safety harness and go through a quick safety briefing with our highly trained guides. Once comfortable, all guests will load into the Highline Hummer 4x4 vehicle, for a fun and exhilarating climb up the mountainside, ascending over 1,000', through our protea flower fields, and finishing high above the Santa Ynez Valley.

In the El Pueblo Viejo Historic District, there are charming pedestrian walkways, called paseos, that snake through Santa Barbara and are often overlooked by visitors. Dating back to Spanish California days, they were expanded when the downtown was rebuilt after an earthquake in 1925. It is here, along these twists and turns, that past and present are nestled side by side, with some buildings dating from the 1700s through the 1800s and embodies the best of Santa Barbara's Spanish Colonial Revival architecture. In this section, we will explore the former VIP limousine entrance as well as the transformed 125 space parking lot on the north side of the iconic Arlington Theater.

6: The Granada Theatre

Prepare to discover white stucco walls, memorable red tile roofs, flower bedecked courtyards, hidden passageways, notable restaurants, world-class performing arts theaters and museums. The next paseo we encounter is Victoria Court. Once we get through the maze to the other side, we will take a little stroll on State Street past the iconic 1924 Granada Theater. This is home to the Santa Barbara Symphony, State Street Ballet, and Opera Santa Barbara. Then we meander through the San Marcos Building. Exiting this pre-1925 arcade brings us right in front of the 1941 Santa Barbara Museum of Art, a building that was at one time the Santa Barbara Post Office (19121932). Now, it is home to a collection of ancient through contemporary works and photography represented by Asian, European and American artists. Afterward, we make our way through our last charming paseo. Lined with restaurants, shops and galleries, the 1926 La Arcada will definitely evoke images of Spain.

Our final tasting stop is a sweet treat in a grown-up Candyland. Indulge in what many locals and visitors alike consider to be the best donut in town, a perfect finale to our culinary exploration. Inspired by nouveau donut artists such as Sidecar Doughnuts in Santa Monica, Hook & Press is taking what a typical donut shop would do and elevates it by using an overnight brioche dough made with European-style butter, eggs, whole milk, sugar, and salt. Explore the sunny shores near Santa Barbara during this kayaking adventure along the coast of Refugio State Beach. This family-friendly, laid-back adventure is a great way to scout for Pacific Ocean marine life while enjoying the legendary scenery of the California coast.

Head to Refugio State Beach in the morning for the start of your kayaking trip. Before climbing into your boat youll get outfitted with gear and provide a safety lesson, paddling demonstration, and explanation of how to get in and out. Once youre feeling ready, continue on for the journey along the shore of this beautiful area.

As you paddle, your guide will stop to point out marine life like pristine underwater kelp and some of the more than 1,500 species of plants and animals that call this state preserve home. If youre particularly lucky, youll also see some of Refugio State Beachs dolphin residents. Enjoy lunch on a secluded beach before hitting the water again for the ride back, during which youll play a series of fun kayak games and challenges to keep things interesting.

Your guide will outfit the members of your group and offer a thorough kayaking lesson on shore. Once we are on the water, we will tour a total of 3 miles, stopping in pristine kelp beds to learn about Marine Ecology and the Santa Barbara Channel, and hopefully kayaking with dolphins and sea lions.

This is the newest beach rental stand in Santa Barbara located on the sand just to the right of the pier. Easy entry into the water with a kayak or sup as there are no waves to battle from this location making it easy and fun for the entire family. The best part, you can get to the open ocean if you like within minutes and to the buoys that are always covered with seals.

WHAT TO EXPECT

You will be given everything you need to make a 14oz tray of your own custom designed Chocolate Bark. You will take it home, wrapped and sealed in a wooden tray and little wooden hammer to break apart at home or a Dinner Party. There is nothing more special then to say "I made this!" We make the finest chocolate using the highest quality ingrediencies and our beans are ethically sourced. We have 60% dark or 40% milk (oat milk) dairy/gluten/soy free, VEGAN craft chocolate. You will be handed a Tile of your choice of freshly poured fluid chocolate where you can begin designing your own flavor choosing from many inclusions such as: nuts, dried fruits, seasonings and salts. Because our tour is on bikes we can show you Channel Drive and State Street Promenade which can't be accessed by car. Our comfortable and fun electric bikes let you see more in less time. You'll love the 360 degree view of downtown and the coastline from the Courthouse tower and the story of how it was built. We'll tell you the story behind the sights including the interesting people involved. We love telling you about our favorite restaurants and ice cream stores. Some of them are off State Street and don't even have any signs. We ride right through the neighborhood our owner grew up in. Many people say our tours are the highlight of their trip to Santa Barbara.
